Well, three Super Bowl championship rings as OC (tied with Charlie Weis) is a great place to start with Josh. He was on staff for all six.
I think the way he's managed Mac Jones as a rookie has been masterful. Could they have handled certain situations differently? Sure. But we have a QB with a winning 17-game season and playoff birth under his belt now. I look around the league at all these other phenoms present and past who were mismanaged and got the stuffing knocked out of them and wonder what might have been. Mac Jones will emerge a better NFL QB with confidence and understanding of how much their is to learn.
He should get the assistant coach if the year award for what he has done with a rookie QB.
The gap between Jones and the average rookie is substantially bigger than the gap between Brady and the average NFL QB in his seasons here.
I think Buffalo has a better roster than us at every single position currently except for OL. I like to go with the eye test and the last game against Buffalo was a very thorough display that they are a cut above us. We couldn't really stop them from taking anything they wanted. That was the sort of game where the score was not an accurate representation of what transpired on the field. I'm surprised they are only 11-5 and I'll chalk that up to 2021 just being a strange season. The only thing that can stop the Bills is Josh Allen.
I'd feel a lot more confident about this game if our defense didn't do a disappearing act since the bye week. Our problems at LB/DE feel catastrophic and teams are enjoying exploiting it. We basically need to have a two score lead to force teams into playing into the strength of our defense. We're going to need perfect execution on offense to do that. Our margin for error is essentially zero.
To me this matchup feels like when we played the Broncos in the 2013-14 playoffs. Sure the records are similar, but the teams on the field right now are playing miles apart. Nevertheless, just as in that game against the Broncos I have no reason but to believe.
CB, HC, RB, K, OL are all advantage Patriots. We are even at TE. DL is probably even if Barmore is able to perform how he has all year. I'm not afraid of the Bills. I'm only concerned if they can't contain the Bills RB, because Josh Allen will not play as well as he did in NE, that was a great performance by him, and it will be colder, and the pressure will get to him.
Are opposing defenses understanding that our O-Line is a weakness in pass protection, specifically weak enough that it won't hold up for more vertical routes to develop in time, so they're flooding the middle and going aggressive? Which also in turn makes a run game hard to develop?
If so, how can you (outside of putting in a decent O-Line rotation) work around that? In the scenario that Buffalo is making it difficult and collapsing the pocket, what's the next card in your hand that you can pull out?
Just saw the posts about ticket prices. Reminds me of 2 years ago when the Titans-Pats playoff game ticket prices plummeted due to it being extremely cold and rainy. They were so low, I snagged two tickets and took my dad (Gillette is about a 5 hour drive for me). Was a great time. Pretty sure I got COVID though lol but it was worth it. Didn’t know it at the time, but it was Brady’s final game as a Patriot so that’s really neat.
These prices are making me consider doing it again. Buffalo is closer to me than Gillette.
Man… I’m glad I went to that game, now knowing that it was Tom’s last game, but I would call that night extremely sad before I’d call it a great time
Though I did have a great time pre-game. Boy I was hype. And on the deep ball to Watson, before they called it back cuz shaq was downfield…
Ehh sometimes, but I’m not convinced. The two best crowds I’ve been a part of are 2014 ravens and 2017 jags playoff games… and those weren’t cheap games

Just checked again. Not only are there still plenty of 100 section seats near the 50 available, there are plenty of club level seats near the 50 available for as little as $325 and at most $400. The club level seats in Buffalo are heated and like in Gillette, there is club house where you can watch the game from indoors.
I'm OK with the cheap seats. It'll be so friggan cold so whatever...I don't mind spending money on seats in the 200s. I'm considering it actually. I'm flipping the bill for my daughter and her BF. Another buddy might come. Not sure.

Wait until about midnight Saturday when all the people posting how the team has no chance and sucks across the board start posting like the patriots winning makes them great by association. Then when they beat Tennessee and go to the AFCCG they will be signing their praises.
Good point about proof of vax required so people can’t go. That is true.
As I understand it Canadians crossing the border need a proof of a PCR test to go back without quarantine. I don’t know if they could set up a testing center at the stadium to accommodate them… probably would be tough.
