Bengals resting starters

I would hate this. We need Cincy to take out KC in the Divisional...

It's funny that there are teams people think we should or shouldn't want to face in the playoffs. It's going to be a huge challenge no matter who it is. Probably going to lose regardless and it won't even be that shameful.

That being said, the Bengals coming into the playoffs rusty might be our best shot against anyone.

I trust our "A game" against any AFC team, but conversely, if we don't bring the "A game", we can lose to any of these teams.

this. It’s impossible to tell tbh so no point stressin it. With the bills you may get the erratic josh allen, you could also get the one from last week in foxboro where it’s very unlikely we can hang.

the Bengals are dangerous on offense, but its also an inexperienced coach and qb who bb is known to feast on. they also may come out rusty.

kc , probably the toughest one given thatd be in arrowhead . But i think we know how to stop mahomes and we can run on that team

Do the Bengals not remember their own history? In 2009 they decided to rest their starters against the Jets, who needed to win to make the playoffs. Jets blew the doors off of them that week, which got them in as a wild card... where they proceeded to beat the Bengals again (starters and all) in the wild card round. Cincy lost momentum, gave their opponent a free ticket to the postseason, AND gave them all the confidence they needed to take them out when it mattered. This kind of thing is prone to backfire.

I'd say I want Buffalo because we know them well there will be no surprises and we know what to expect. Assuming it's MNF the weather in Buffalo that night looks like it could be snow and windy. Good times. Just wish it wasn't MNF.

Allen won't be too upset if he loses to his favorite football team in the playoffs anyway. :D

Story of the season.

2005, too.

PIT locked into #6 spot. CIN rests its starters, "despite" the fact that it meant losing the #3 seed if they lost and NE won.

Next week, this happens.

Yikes. Well, third time's the charm?

I seem to be in the minority here thinking I’d rather play the Bengals than the Bills. But yeah, I like our chances better against the Bengals.
You might be but every team has strengths and weaknesses to exploit.

TN is tough as nails but they have Tanny at QB. If we can at least be somewhat competent with the run D we have a chance.

KC in Arrowhead sounds brutal but we've had some measurable success vs Mahomes.

CIN is a young team like us. They could crack.

BUF is a tough matchup. Allen is great but hes prone to a couple of wayward throws per game.

Indy- See TN for scouting report.

If we come out passive, do dumb things, and Mac plays like a rookie vs any of these teams we'll get killed.

To be the best, you got to beat the best. Should not matter who they play.

Makes Bill's decision to pull the starters in week 17 of the 2005 season a worse decision than I remember. Bengals were playing at the same time as the Pats. Bengals were getting blown out, yet Bill still took the starters out and lost the game.

pats play the bengals with a win against the dolphins and a bengals loss against the browns

Makes me want to face them. A team that rests a week while we are playing to win and get some momentum.

Buffalo, Indy or even LA can take out KC in the divisional
Or we can.

This is why I'm convinced that, at minimum, Belichick really didn't care if they won that game, and might well have lost it on purpose. ("You want out of that slot so bad, maybe I'll just let you have it.")
