What's Slater really saying?

Plus Roman left and BB hater Ted Johnson retired.

Yep, and Ted retired right before TC began, so he knew that we were in desperate, desperate shape at LB and he quit anyway… I’ve never really thought of him in the same way again.

lol, how about focusing to force one ****ing punt in the game rather than *****ing around, yeah the rookie should hang 50 points on the Bills D# with WR1 N'klost Harry, give me a break

who are those thin skinned girls in the locker?
It’s a made up story. Your anger should be at the person who made it up, not the people it was made up about.

He was cooked. Johnson was a beast in his first few years but a horrible lb and a massive liability at the end.

There's probably something going on, but we won't know anything about it till after the season and some players leave and then yap about it.

Till then, we can speculate.
Nothing is going on except they lost 2 games and slater is trying to get their focus on looking forward.

You're OBSESSED with me, love it! Keep it going. I don't think you can post without thinking of me, makes me feel great inside. Also hilarious and ironic to hear you talk about narcissists while you're one of the biggest nut-huggers in the 'things I read' self-worship thread.

I've found over decades that there's almost always smoke where there's fire. Even completely absurd and stupid sounding stuff like Gronk and Brady upset about their contracts and pay and incentive amounts. Or Brady tension about JG. Or Moss being upset about not getting the ball, etc, all turned out to be verifiably true.

There is no smoke. He is making comments about what a team needs to focus on when it loses 2 key games. Any inference that there are problems in the locker room are fabricated.

You were the one blaming Steve Belichick, he coaches the defense. But then again you were simply doing it to be an @sshole, as always.
There's going to be several HC vacancies next season and interviews have already started. Several DC are being considered. How many teams do you think will consider Little Steven for a HC position? Forget HC. How many teams would consider Little Steven for a DC position? If you're being honest and not a totally blind Homer, you'd admit the answer is NONE. You know why? Because he's got ZERO street cred. He's basically Daddies little helper. Little Steven brings nothing to the DC position: no new ideas or schemes, no creativity. At least Mayo played the game at a high level and has natural instincts that Little Steven will never achieve. Little Steven is a waste of space and an embarrassment on national TV. He's also not respected by the players or lacks the connection necessary to inspire them.

Are all you Bucs fans going to try and come back here and pretend you are Patriot fans when Brady retires, or are you going to stick with your team?
There are all kinds of fans. You have your Negative nancies, the eternal optimists, the blind Homers. I'm none of those types. You also have fans that can support their team but are a bit more objective in recognizing the teams deficiencies, weaknesses, and admit when the team was simply outplayed and outcoached w/o having to invent a bunch of excuses for why the team lost. That's me. Before, during and after Brady retires, I'll continue to be a Pats fan, just not a blind homer like you are.

Have we figured out what Slater was saying yet? I’m kind of getting the vibe that he’s bullish on ETH.

BB should have let his kids go and earn their credentials at other teams. He should have done it a while ago. He can make intro and get them a job but then it’s up to them to succeed.

Look at what Mike Shanahan did. Or Jack Harbaugh with his kids. Ultimately you need to let the kids try and make it on their own. The nepotism at the Patriots should be unacceptable. Kraft needs to clamp down on it.

I'm not sure they could get a job anywhere else. You would think that being offspring of the Goat Coach and having worked for him since they were kids, that people would be knocking on their doors. He could have asked a favor of Saban to start them off in the college system, to gain some outside experience. It's no coincidence that Bill paired Little Steven with Flores and then with Mayo. He needs a buffer between the players or you end up with another Malcolm Butler fiasco. I think he's a weirdo and Bill knows it so he has to keep him close.

Not sure how many of you have worked in a nepotism environment. It's a joke. Nobody respects the Bosses kid.

Says the guy who was labeling fans here “Brady haters” just last week, and who labeled Belichick a .450 coach for the rest of his career simply because they got off to a slow start. The truth is that you are just an @sshole who likes to try and aggravate people just to get a reaction, but you cry like the little b.tch that you are when you get called on it. You aren’t some “ objective fan” who is “ just calling it like you see it, your a troll who takes shots and scurries off. And you proved it once again in this thread when you tried to claim that the problem with the team is Belichick’s “ nepotism” when the coach of the defense is his son, and they have allowed the fewest points in football. You don’t say sh.t like that to have a honest discussion of football, you do it to piss people off, and you know it.

BS. Just plain BS. Did Bill give his kids a help in getting in the door. Sure he did. But you seem to ignore the obvious by selective memory. Steve's rise in the organization came with EVERY chance to fail. He didn't just appear on the Pats sideline one day. He spend 4 full seasons as a coaching assistant learning everything from breaking down film to getting the coffee. At every step between being gofer and a position coach, he has had to be able to DO the job. He had to gain the respect of the players as well as his dad. He has had to follow the same path as McDaniels, Patricia, Flores, etc.

And, after following BB for the past 20 years, do you REALLY honestly believe that if Steve didn't have an aptitude to coach in the NFL, he'd have a job here?? He's been doing this for NINE freakin' years. THis hasn't been a meteoric rise. This has been more like like a long trek that has many more miles to go. In every area he's taken from coaching DB's to LB's he's HAD success. Now he's calling the defensive play calls. It's not a huge responsibility since whatever is called will often be changed by a formation, motion, or personnel grouping. This is still a cooperative group effort to coordinate the defense.

He's an easy target for those here looking for low hanging fruit. Kind of sad, but understandable. There ARE some very lazy people here.

More bullish.t, the Patriots defense has allowed the fewest points in football, thats a successful coch, not someone getting by on daddy’s coattails.

You’re right, there are all kinds of fans, take you for instance, you’re a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan who wants to spend his time trolling the Patriots message board.

Settle down old man. Don't have a coronary. Chill out bro. You take yourself and this forum way too seriously. Don't forget to take your blood pressure medication and wear your leg stockings to control varicose veins. As a fellow Pats fan, I love you man.

Flores followed the same path and he's a HC now. How many teams do you think would hire Little Steven as a DC?

Steven Belichick is 34 and he will definitely be a defensive coordinator and head coach in this league for a long time to come. He calls the defensive plays for a defense that is first in scoring defense, and yet somehow you try to label him as a failure. So back it up, where is the evidence to support your claim that he sucks ? So far all you have done is spew sh.t, but then again that’s all you can do because the facts show that is doing a good job. Come back with some facts next time.
