Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Bills beat the Pats

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Judon is a former Raven. You can't extract the dirty play from inside him.
Under this theory, the Bills must be dirty because the dirtiest play of the last two games was Milano hitting Mac on his slide, and Milano has only ever been a Bill.

thats really embarrassing for a late december, playoff type game :(
The defense did not play well by any means, but didn't the Bills go for it on 5 fourth downs? I'm sure the Patriots have looked worse on D in the past, when on some occasions the opposing team punted. I believe the Bills went for it on 4th in their own territory. And 4th and 7 at the 40 yard line? It doesn't mean it's not embarrassing but that's a little context.

Agree. You can tell who's a fake Mac fan when the Pats lose and then they can't help bring in the arm strength myth.
Mac is the real deal, he plays awesome when he isn't getting crappy pass protection in crappy spread shotgun.
And it seems like whatever happened to his thumb is worse than just a nick

.

I can't remember an NFL quarterback have his arm strength talked about so much

Its really over the top at this point. You don't need Josh Allen's arm to complete like 95% of plays in the NFL

Edelman was a good receiver who played real snaps as a rookie

still remember that jet game in week 2 of his rookie year. Welker was out so je was forced to play slot. Had around 100 yards, pretty good for his 2nd week. He definitely flashed considerably more his first 4 years at wr. Gunner has… one td in garbage time against sd last year, and a few other catches?

This is what you call a dirty hit. Then what about your Milano who tackled Mac Jones after he gave himself up on a scramble and was already on the ground. Do you consider that a dirty play? That is far worse than Judon trying to punch the ball while Allen is on the ground.

Personally, I don't consider either one of them a dirty play. Milano was rightfully flagged for the late hit, but I don't think it was dirty.

I agree, that hit on Jones was BS too and shouldn't have happened.

I agree but it was Brady throwing the ball versus Jones. So I am not sure how that factors in. Unfortunately it is not a direct comparison. We probably need a slot guy in the 2022 3rd or 4th round.

You should also show the replay in full if you have it. All I see is the very end, in slow motion. Full game speed and context are needed. This definitely isn’t a punch, but whether it’s ”cheap” or “unnecessary” is the question, and you can’t tell from this.

I'm sorry, I dont have the full replay.

But no one doctored the film. Its the same exact thing as what you see, just faster.

And apparently you cant get some Patriot fans to admit that a play is dirty haha. Once that Patriot jersey goes on, everything is OKAY!

I would have been all over John Metchie III from Alabama in the second round if he hadn't done his knee in the Iron Bowl. To me he could have become that security blanket in the slot who i.e. good hands, shifty, gets open etc. Think this is the kind of player we desperately need.

Elijah Moore would have been amazing here, but i still think they made the right choice taking Barmore

Yea. Didn't hear a word about arm strength when they were winning 7 straight because he had decent OLine pass protection. Throwing lasers or perfect buckets to Bourne.

Maybe just maybe when a guy can't set his feet within 2 seconds it's hard to sling it 25 yards....

I don't think anyone doctored the film. What I'm saying is that, since it's in slow motion and omits most of the play, it's hard to say if it's "dirty" or not. It's very possible it was a quick, bang-bang type of play where in real time it looked like the ball might be loose and Judon is simply reaching in to try to knock it out. With the video clip there, all of the context is lacking for what's actually happening, what he saw, and how quickly he was able to react.

The two dirtiest plays in that game were the push/tug out of bounds and the hit by Milano (and at least one more helmet-in-the-QB-face.

So maybe you should really just STFU and go away.

I usually love fans of other teams here - we had a Saints guy who was great, a Jets' fan who is great...you're just trolling, and not very well.

Mods should bounce you at this point.

If anyone posts the full video on Twitter, i'll pass it on.

Personally, I don't understand how it can be a bang-bang acceptable play when Allen is already on his back BEFORE Judon ever starts his wind up. Even if he punched the ball out, Allen is already down. Bills would retain ball. It was a punch-out for absolutely no reason.

I agree about the Milano play. He shouldn't have hit Mac when he was sliding. Not cool.

As for the dirtiest play of the game, that was definitely Judon tripping Allen.

I was looking for the play. I don't think this is the same one. It is similar, from the reverse angle, but #98 isn't in the shot, so I think it's actually a different play, but Judon tries to swipe at the ball at the end. It happens very fast.

And everyone else was worse on many days.
I get that you like to cry when things don’t go well, but at least be honest.

I always calls ‘em as I sees ‘em.

Okay, I think the trip was dirty, but the WORST play was Hughes.

I don't know, or care, if he was trying to hold Jones up or yank him down - he had no business at all in putting his hands on Jones, who was already out of bounds and angling further out of bounds. No business at all. Absolutely a penalty.

Anyway, it's interesting because Judon does something similar on this play...after Allen hits the ground, he swipes at the ball even though there's no actual reason to swipe at the ball...in real time, however, a ref won't blow the whistle because it doesn't look dirty. If I had to guess, I'd say this tactic is somewhat of a hybrid between unnecessary/somewhat dirty if contact is made and a desperate hope that the ball was already loose to force a fumble. I'd hardly say it's a really dirty play like a blatant Larry Bird/Dr. J punch though.

So yeah, we already saw from that earlier play that Judon tripped Allen. He's one of those guys whose going to do everything he can to get into the opponent's head and also try to get every possible edge.

I used to play basketball in high school, and one time we were playing this team...every time I'd pass the ball, this kid on defense would either jab me pretty hard in the stomach, or he'd give me somewhat of a titty twister (grab my nipple and twist...really quickly and fast...****ing hurts.) He figured out that the refs don't see it since they're focusing on where the ball is going. Players at higher levels do all kinds of tacticts like that...like extra shoves, etc. when they know they can get away with it. I ended up doing the same thing we played that team again...after I passed the ball on the first play, I elbowed him in the face.

Please stop feeding the trolls, especially those covered in Green Sh!t…

Yeah thats a different one.

Judon did nothing wrong in that play.

I guess i'll have to re-watch the Hughes play.

From my memory, I thought he was trying to hold him up from falling.
