Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Bills beat the Pats

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Yes - they needed to pick it up by May of this past year.

Outside of Jonnu, he’s been the most disappointing player to me this year. Just way too inconsistent especially since he’s shown to be capable last year.
Wynn Was good when he wasn't hurt, don't know what happened to him

Tough loss. But we still have football left to play. Can't overreact to the losses or wins. At 2-4 many thought the season was over. At 9-4 many thought we were SB contenders. In the end it looks like we are going to be what many projected prior to the season, a 10 or 11 win team and lower playoff seed. Unlikely to go too deep but always the chance of catching lightning in a bottle. Hopefully we can build some momentum over the next 2 weeks going into the postseason. in 2018 we looked done at this point, had a couple good outings against weak teams and established something we carried into the playoffs.

Defense clearly failed us today. It happens though, they have been carrying us to victory in most of our wins and keeping us in most games. In today's game you are bound to give up a couple 30 burgers in a given year... it happens to every defense no matter how great they are. Whether they get back on track or continue being a weak point remains to be seen. The loss of Jonathon Jones was really huge, I find it amazing that we have managed to play at the level we did despite having a clear weak link in the secondary in Bryant.

Mac had another rough outing but I'm still a believer in the kid. As bad as the last couple weeks were he did lead a 2nd half surge and had us in position to win at the end. I really would have liked to see the defense give him a chance to complete the comeback in either of these games to see what he's really made of in these moments.

Special teams is still underwhelming. Hopefully Joe Judge gets fired and we can get him back. Another longish return after a TD killed some momentum during the comeback. Kick return has nothing. PUnt return didn't get a chance today but haven't done anything since San Diego. Aside from Folk has not been a strongpoint and the 3 blocked punts this year have been killer.

All in all this team is about where I expected as stated above. We are still a good offseason away from becoming a true contender but the progress has been good. If nothing else I really want to see Mac end the season on a good note. Trajectory has not been good the last few weeks so hopefully that switches again here. Onto Jacksonville! Hopefully turn it back around.

Not sure what people are watching. Maybe I’m way off base here. Doesn’t seem like an arm strength problem to me. His movement in the pocket seems to have improved, but he seems to have lost any rhythm with the receivers. Either that, or guys aren’t running routes where he is expecting them to be. On one of his incompletions to Henry, Henry immediately started patting himself on the chest, like he ****ed up. The passing game just looks to be out of sync. Sure, he has thrown some stinkers, but they (imo) look more like mechanics issues.

Agree. You can tell who's a fake Mac fan when the Pats lose and then they can't help bring in the arm strength myth.
Mac is the real deal, he plays awesome when he isn't getting crappy pass protection in crappy spread shotgun.
And it seems like whatever happened to his thumb is worse than just a nick

.

Looks like we witnessed an all-time fail:

Trade Nogood Harry to Carolina for Stephon Gilmore. We could have used him today chasing after McKenzie.

Reunite Cam and N’Keal.

the tone of the day seems unanimous - lack of urgency.
Offense was lackluster the first 3 quarters (besides the 2nd drive for TD)
Defense was not stopping the run, or the pass. The soft zone was insanely maddening.
It looked like a D that was hoping someone else would make a play, and that if they walk their roster out there, they could just win based on the logo on their helmet. And on O - there's no clutch winners yet. Harris is the closest to a "on my shoulders" kind of guy. But, when we start behind, it lessens his impact. I believe Mac can become that kind of QB, but it's unfair to put that expectation on him this early.
NEXT YEAR
We need a Kupp-like #1WR, and year 2 for Mac/Bourne/Smith/Rham to really breakout to help Meyers/Harris/Henry. And on D, all new LB's. Maybe Bentley can take HT's role, KVN could go, and McMillan/Jennings/Perkins/Uche need to take over or be ousted by difference maker.
In the secondary - Phillips will have to take over for DMC as the leader. If we don't keep JC, we're starting over at CB. Hopefully J. Jones can come back strong, and maybe Wade will become something?

And also a new oc

That is sure asking for a lot.

Friggin' grrrr!!!

Is he not counting the 2017 Superbowl? Sounds like only regular season.

Reese goofed.

Edit: I goofed. I forgot it was the Pats that didn’t punt.

"Got in the face of the opponent and started yelling." Oh heavens no! They just tackled his QB on the ground after he slid, what an awful man he is for being upset about that and yelling!
And the ref's explanation is that Brown made them work harder than they wanted to. so they threw the flag.

Team needs in the offseason:
- A bonafide NT. Godchaux sucks.
- Spend a 1st rounder on Inside Linebacker. Bentley sucks.
- CB and WR are needs but the team sucks at drafting these positions so the fix here has to be via trade or free agency.
- A new OC.

He is undersized as a tackle. Do you think he can do better inside as a guard?

Bio says she's ex-media, so maybe she's home, barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen.
Let's hope Kraft doesn't come out and call her a classic *********

I think Mac is fine. The same pass protection issues that came up earlier in the year seem to be rearing again now. Mac is not getting enough time to throw and the receivers are not getting separation.
