i turned it off soon as they decided a draw up the middle with Bolden with 2:01 to play was their idea of a winning play call.

They clearly gave up, so why should I continue to watch.

Two massively late hits on Mac, Zero penalty yards as a result.

Horrible play calling on offense

As mccourty said "Old doesn't show up on the injury report" Devin and hightower need to go. While we're at it, kick steve bellichick to the curb, and hire someone that can teach Jc Jackson proper tackling technique instead of letting a QB walk past his attempt at a shoulder tap on 4th down.

If this is what the patriots think qualifies as playoff caliber football, our season is toast.

Let’s face it, I think some of my fellow Pat’s fans jumped the gun. Some of you went overboard, talking about a SB run, possibly facing Tampa. I always felt that was silly based on the evidence. I don’t blame you, the 7 game winning streak was exciting, but that 4 game stretch was just too tough for this team.

I always said this was a rebuilding season, and not only that, rebuilding season with a rookie QB. Mac needed to have a great game, he didn’t. He’s a good young QB, but not ready for prime time just yet. Who knows who he’ll become, but it has been a solid rookie year, better than any other rookie QB this season. This was the game he needed to make a statement, he didn’t, came up way short. But hopefully he improves every year.

I said before this 4 game gauntlet of games, 2 against Buffalo, one vs Tennessee and one against Indy, I’d be happy with a split. We got the split. IF we make the playoffs, it’ll be much further than I expected. I felt we would go 9-8 or 10-7, I felt this team was 2 games better than last year. But this is not an elite team. I think they are headed in the right direction, and I have hopes for the next few seasons.

Just f*cking disappointing.

Defense can't stop them. Mac going backwards. At this rate, we are a one and done in the playoffs even if we make it.

Best case scenario is Mac continues his development next year with Bill O'Brien (2TE expert and also knows Alabama now). And the current oc takes a well deserved opportunity on another franchise.

Mac looks lost right now. Jags are not a given next week.

He has to be one of the worst throwers of the football. Dude just can't throw anything but floaters. It is embarrassing to watch him literally float everything. You could be right. Maybe he does have some injury. I kind of hope so because if that is how his arm looks for real than Bill needs to ensure he is in the gym 24x7 in the off-season.
Didn’t he hurt his thumb? Aside from that, I’ve been concerned with his arm as he's was throwing floaters well before that. I’m not asking for him to get a cannon, but he’s arm strength looks really pedestrian.

Lmfao some random reporter just asked Bill if he has any New Years Resolutions for some ungodly reason and Bill was like what in the hell?

What goes through somebody's head to ask Bill that question after that game? Good lord.....

The 2:00 warning was coming up, free timeout. Pats thought they could catch the Bills off guard and get a chunk play. Didn’t work. Worked a couple of times for opponents against the Pats this season.

@VectorPrime I tried to respond to your Chase question in the GDT but it got locked. To answer your question Chase was 7 catches for 125 yards today and his team blew out the Ravens.

Unfortunately for Mac while we can say for sure the Pats made the right pick in the draft- when it comes to OROY he is not seen as an impact player right now. Chase is. That will win it for him imo.

Hot take - I think Mac is playing injured. Some of those throws were so wildly off today. Reminded me of Brady in late 2018. I’m hesitant to say that Indy exposed us just yet. Mac was facing a lot of Cover-1 robber today without Agholor. Stacked boxes, bump and run, tight windows. He couldn’t make it happen. But he’s beat that before. His mechanics are regressing as well. Too much torque getting generated from his upper body, which typically tells you something is up with his legs/ankles.
I think he had to take his knee brace off after the dirty out of bounds hit, I wonder if that affected him at all. I also wonder if he might just be hitting the rookie wall as far as endurance. Not physically ready for a full NFL season (which is now 1 game longer) yet. Maybe.

He hurt his thumb on his left hand. I don't know but man, it is awful to not see be able to rifle any throws. It kind of puts our guys in a dangerous spot because they are always running under the ball which sets the defense up to drop the hammer.

It’s clear Mac and this offense is not built to win shootouts. Not right now.

Then why do they keep trying idiotic shootout formations. With Agholor out should have played a lot of Jonnu, Bourne, and Onwenu in big personnel. Not force it to NKeal Crappy 6 times today.

.

Any chance that Buffalo loses to either the Falcons or Jete? Both won today so maybe they can make a game out of it with Buffalo. If we end up the 6th seed, we could very well get a rematch with Buffalo. We can beat these guys. It's a matter of keeping our head on straight and executing.
Buffalo is the better team in 2021, got lucky to hold on in the win. Hopefully we sweep them next year.

Just shut up dude. You weren't even watching the Pats - you admitted you were watching the Bucs game in the Bucs forum.

Maybe Mac is hitting the rookie wall a bit? Longer season than he's used, and definitely taking more hits than he's used to.

If the Pats can’t beat the Jags at home then we had no business ever thinking this was a playoff worthy team.
I think we badly overrated them. I know I did. I thought we were not going to lose again after we beat Buffalo 3 weeks ago. But our defense has fallen apart and Mac looks awful. On the bright side, the run game is pretty awesome.

Regressing, not improving, mechanics. Sounds like a different QB coach and oc could help the kid out in the offseason.

Mac Jones looked like the rookie he is. Plus that fact that Hunter Henry was clueless on the field, NKeal does not seem he expects the ball, Jonn is useless.. (Nelson is not better even when he is healthy)..

2022 the offense needs better receivers, aka: #1 as the very least....
