NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 15 Other NFL Games Thread

How does a team let Kelce to have such a big day, pathetic

When I watch games like this, I realize that BB is not a genius. He just looks like one because most all other coaches are absolute morons.

Hey, I went to bed early, but I bet the six points the Chargers just refused to take didn't come back to haunt them.

Pssst Brandon! You lost, but you wouldn't have if you kicked field goals rather than going for it on fourth downs. Being reckless like this is the quickest way to the unemployment line.

The Chargers have the 26th ranked defense.

Both the Steelers on 12/26 and the Bengals 1/22 are fighting for their proverbial post season lives and have higher ranked defenses. The 22nd ranked Steelers defense actually has a decent pass defense. 2021 Pittsburgh Steelers Statistics & Players | Pro-Football-Reference.com The Bengals defense is more balanced 2021 Cincinnati Bengals Statistics & Players | Pro-Football-Reference.com

If Ben ever needed to put on a performance this is it. Same for Burrow, everyone is lauding him as an elite QB, well here is your chance to prove it. Chase, Mixon, Boyd and Higgins, that is a formidable line up vs any NFL team.

I agree with the second one. Part of BB’s genius is that he almost always knows ‘what the play should be in this situation’ and he has the balls & the experience & the conviction to make the call. Or, when he is differing to his staff (Josh), it’s been prepared & talked about for ages….

Coaches don’t prepare their teams for key situations. BB does.

Fans that have been crying about BB aren’t in the know. They just aren’t.

Six points? They went for it on fourth down in the red zone four times and got 7 points to show for it. So they left 9 points on the field.

Funny, if they kicked a field goal on all four 4th downs, they would have had 12 points and won the game. Instead, they had 7 points and lost in overtime.

Belichick is still a genius. These morons just highlights how much of genius.

Belichick uses analytics to make decisions too. But unlike Staley, he doesn't follow analytics blindly. There are times you go for it on 4th down and there are times you just take the points. Staley didn't see that. This isn't the first game where his over aggressiveness has cost him a game.
And because he was so stupid with fourth downs and they didn't use all their time outs in the second half, his stupid decision to challenge a down by contact call where the Chiefs ball carrier was clearly down will be overshadowed. That was almost as dumb as some of his fourth down calls.

You're speaking in hyperbole, right?

When I watched the Pats play the Chargers, the Pats were the better team and the score shouldn't have been close.

When I watched last night, the Chargers threw away their season. Right now they're in the top Wildcard spot, but they've got a bunch of teams - Browns, Bengals, Steelers, Broncos, Colts, Bills, Dolphins breathing down their throat. They had better recover fast or they won't even make the playoffs, not that they're likely to do anything in the playoffs anyway.

First drive of the game where they don't get over the 50 is the last drive to win? Pathetic.

Leaving 9 points on the board? Stupid. And playing scared against a team that isn't what it was.

Letting two players you know are certain go-to get open over and over again in OT? Pathetic.

The Chiefs re beatable, BUT...

They know how to win, they expect to win, and they've got the best offensive trio in the league out there. If they stay healthy, they remain my pick to go to the SB (but I think the Bucs or the Rams would beat them).

I think Brady said something to this same effect...there are a lot of stupid people around the league...

The Chiefs should not be happy or confident with that performance. They were complaining back in 2018 that "Mahomes never touched the ball against NE in OT and it was unfair!" Well, they benefited off the OT rules last night and are singing a different tune today.

Staley fell into a gamblers fallacy where he gambled, lost, then felt like he had to keep gambling to make up for his losses. If they had kicked FG's every time, they would have won, but he kept viewing it as, "We need to keep up with the Chiefs, so we need 7 here... okay, we didn't get any points, so now we REALLY need 7 here... okay, no points again, so now we DESPERATELY need 7 here" and it just spiraled from there. Analytic slaves.

Chiefs don't scare me.

Me neither.

Their defense still sucks. They get lucky that Qaron got COVID and that the Cowboys were without all of their weapons. Then, they stopped nothing teams. Chargers were able to score against them, but just acted stupid. Their offense has been very inconsistent and contrary to the last few years, it can be significantly slowed down.

Chiefs are good, they can beat anybody, but they are also beatable. If we draw them, especially at Gillette, I think we would be the favorites.

Staley's mistakes weren't just on offense. In fact, I would argue that the mistakes he made on defense were actually worse- trying to play Chiefs with a standard cover 2, very few nickel and no dime. And, worse of all, continually leaving Hill in single coverage. They didn't bother putting a shell on him or bracketing him. That was frustrating to watch.

The more I watch Herbert play the more impressed I am. Within a couple of years he's going to be the best qb in the league. Some of the throws he makes - not freelancing but within the flow of the offense - leave me shaking my head. Right now only A-A-Ron can make those throws. Mahomes can't
