Part of BB’s genius is that he almost always knows ‘what the play should be in this situation’ and he has the balls & the experience & the conviction to make the call. Or, when he is differing to his staff (Josh), it’s been prepared & talked about for ages….When I watch games like this, I realize that BB is not a genius. He just looks like one because most all other coaches are absolute morons.
Hey, I went to bed early, but I bet the six points the Chargers just refused to take didn't come back to haunt them.

Belichick is still a genius. These morons just highlights how much of genius.
Belichick uses analytics to make decisions too. But unlike Staley, he doesn't follow analytics blindly. There are times you go for it on 4th down and there are times you just take the points. Staley didn't see that. This isn't the first game where his over aggressiveness has cost him a game.
And because he was so stupid with fourth downs and they didn't use all their time outs in the second half, his stupid decision to challenge a down by contact call where the Chiefs ball carrier was clearly down will be overshadowed. That was almost as dumb as some of his fourth down calls.
Chiefs don't scare me.
Staley fell into a gamblers fallacy where he gambled, lost, then felt like he had to keep gambling to make up for his losses. If they had kicked FG's every time, they would have won, but he kept viewing it as, "We need to keep up with the Chiefs, so we need 7 here... okay, we didn't get any points, so now we REALLY need 7 here... okay, no points again, so now we DESPERATELY need 7 here" and it just spiraled from there. Analytic slaves.
