Bad decisions but they have overcome the coaching so far. One-half to go.
Excellent points. It isn’t difficult to understand the thinking to put the game in Herbert’s hands. I don’t think BB would do it but we could find out.I’ll just say this: if people want to criticize Staley, they should watch the first Chiefs-Chargers game. Some of the most bold decision making I’ve ever seen. With under 2 minutes, Chargers went for it on 4th and 9 instead of trying a 48 yard field goal. They converted. Continued to play aggressive through the air, play after play, to avoid the Chiefs getting the ball back. The Chargers scored a TD with little time left.
I think he’s right in his approach. Let Herbert win or lose the game, and don’t let this come down to trying to win by field goals or the defense stopping Mahomes. If you can try to win the game with Herbert’s arm, do it.
And on these misses, it’s been terrible execution by the players on plays that have free’d up the WRs.
I just didn’t like that last call, but I don’t mind the overall approach at all.
On the other hand, he could be a jackass and say something stupid like, "let's not give Belichick too much credit"I can never get the image of McVay slurping on some Belichick salami before the Super Bowl out of my head.
"I really admire you coach. You are awesome coach. You're so amazing, coach. Let me sniff your fingers, coach."
Poor Bill seemed embarrassed getting a tongue bath in front of the cameras.
