Let's do a better job welcoming new members

Just wanted to make everyone aware that just above this forum is the New Member sign in area. I try to check it and welcome new members but sometimes I don't think of it.

Right now there are 5 new confessed Patriots fans who have just signed in and no one has welcomed them.

Most of us have the love of the Patriots in common. The other thing that we all have in common is that we were all new here once. So, lets try to pay some attention to the New Member area and welcome the new Patriots fans to the board. :rocker:

When I first posted here somebody told me to go f*** myself. Of course i use the same name at other boards, so it was probably justified.

Luckly nothing like that has happened to me yet. I'm kinda new. I've been reading since Jan. but just started posting. I always like to wait a while so I can get a feel of the board and what does and doesn't go. Those that did welcome me were pretty nice about it.

"are you really a chick? and how do you know so much about football??"

In general, though, this is a literate bunch (in a rude, crude way). You can always count on the folks here for a good bunch of Bravy jokes or some Nostradamus.

There is probably a tendency (with any MB) to treat those with a low post count in a less than polite way just for the sake of being contrarian. If one hangs around and continues to contribute then it's usually OK.

The funniest comment I got was about my screen name from a troll...they thought I was a guy who was trying to make fun of the coach with a play on words.
