Content Post Words on things I watched, read & heard II

This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.

Man these are some beautiful blocks!! Andrews cuts off the nose and divebombs a second level defender. Great rep from #60!
Just look at Wynn. He drives his man 10 + yards off the ball and drives him into the ground.
Great timing and location by #67. This pull isn't easy and he makes an excellent block!
Same for JJ!
Henry with some subtle stalk blocking
And Rham showing off his plus contact balance and toughness. Unbelievable.

After watching tonight's game (Washington/Seattle) with all the flags and undisciplined play. Plays like this one make you appreciate the coaching staff we have. Yes, the players are ultimately responsible here but trust me this is all coaching! This is repetition and commitment. Or lack thereof. You see it around the league every Sunday. Big play called back with a flag. Big play down field bc of a DPI. Pats have always stood out there.

It seems odd that two highly graded players were run stoppers and the run didn't get stopped! ???

Because Bentley and Godchaux aren't just "run stoppers". According to PFF, Godchaux (210 run/ 230pass) an Bentley (222 Run / 244 Pass) are used slightly more on passing downs than running downs.. Which is a good thing. Unlike last year where they were doing tons of substitution with too many "specialists".

Yep, another reason why PFF's grades at certain positions need to be taken with a grain or two or two hundred of salt...

Spotted this Bleacher Report story about DPOY candidates linked from the CNN front page. Was surprised to find they listed six players and had two Patriots on the list. I’m sure we all know who…

BR article

Yea I get how that might stand out to some. Just remember Bentley made a play or behind the LOS, no big mistakes in coverage, God had the FF. Made a few other plays. They show up in other areas too.

Truly epic DKF trolling, right there!

And yes, PFF still sucks...a pillar of salt is needed....but what such high grades tell you is accurate enough only in saying "This guy played well."
My favorite people rn are the folks that think Mac has been great (he has) but Josh sucks.

Yea sometimes you can't make it up. People are wild man lol.

Speaking of one of Bill's more under-rated signings... Guy had a lot of experience as a 5T in Bawlmore's 3-4 front... He's become more stout over the years here, so he seems to usually shade closer to the Center nowadays, but he can still make plays like this and show why he was so desirable in the first place...

He like others on defense got off to a poor start this season, which at his age began the Is the tank empty? conversation... But fortunately it still looks like there's a few gallons left inside...

Just gotta say that this is the greatest thread on this board (other than the betting threads, of course). I can't be the only one who watches each video about 20 times in a row while focusing on a different player each time?

Thanks for this @BaconGrundleCandy

I do take issue with the high ratings for Godchaux and Bentley though. I heard they suck and need to be benched.

Queefs' OL is ****ing Stacked now d%#*!@t, thanks in no small part to the NEP, and to the GB Fudge-Packers for passing on Creed Humphrey...

I ass-ume the ****erson from the NFC is rookie Landon ****erson... Glad to see him stay healthy long enough to show how well he can play when he is... Too bad it's with the Philthy Fecals...

Same with Jon Runyan Jr, whom I liked last year as an athletic, versatile Day 3 LG/LT... Too bad he's protecting Karen Rodgers...

Glad to see Shack Mason have a bounce-back year so far... but Isaiah Wynn?!?

Onwenu would've also been on that list if he had played on the Right side all season, like he should have...

And who's Trey? It better ****ing not be Queefs rookie RG Trey Smith... That would not make me very happy if it was... to say the least...

PFF does have a good breakdown of the snaps for defensive players.. Pass vs. Run. etc. I found it surprising that Godchaux and Bentley were basically on the field for more passes (only slightly more) than run plays..

He's been as good as any rookie along with Slater.

Happy for him. Like a lot of guys dealt with a ton of injuries. He's an animal though. Hope he's in the league for a while.

Wynn has been good this year. He had a few bad games but hasn't been bad all year. It's a shame how narratives get started but w/e. He's having his worst year and has had issues (too late getting out of stance) but he's been good overall. And he's incredibly cheap. People bring up the $10M next year but are obviously clueless bc that's really cheap for a good LT. Idk Idk

I was going to mention Smith when the OROY and DROY discussions get going. Not that he's going to win but he's been really good and looks a lot closer to the Trey we know. Dude was dealing with blood clots in the lungs, some blood disorder. Wasn't like he was bad just dealing with a lot at a young age in college. He's been on that second tier on rookies though. Not taking home any awards but looks really good at times.

Yep. Miami lost 7 in a row and are far from out. They could/should be 8-7 before they play two Belichick bowl deciders
It's wide open. Every division in the AFC is open to an extent. Broncos still play KC twice, Chargers, Bengals and Raiders.

We have Buffalo X2, Colts, Jags, Miami. That's not the easiest road at all. I'd be shocked if we swept Buffalo. Overjoyed but shocked.

AFCN has a ways to go.

You know, one game at a time ...

No problem with anything above, including his option being picked-up even if it squeezed Bill's OL budget a bit... Still believe that both the option and a Thuney re-signing could've/should've happened...I just don't see his performance so far this season, including his weekly Offensive Holding penalty, as being particularly Pro-Bowl caliber, even when taking the lower Pro-Bowl ceiling into consideration...

You do understand, don't you, why if that Trey is indeed Trey Smith I would be completely and justifiably ****ing pissed-off?
