Is it a good idea to try to sign JC Jackson before year ends?

In a perfect world, the Patriots extend Jackson. But, BB is on an island. I have no clue to his direction, oversight or control. What I do know is his results. In BB we trust.

In the end Jackson will likely get paid by the Patriots to a huge deal because the Patriots don't have a replacement for Jackson on the roster.

From an asset management perspective, at a minimum they will slap the tag on him. If they make the moves I think they will they should be around $40m under the cap before tagging JC. That'll keep JC under team control and allow them to make a couple solid but unspectacular moves in FA while they sort out keeping him here long term or trading him for potentially multiple picks.

The fact there was no interest for a playmaking CB who can play in any scheme was bizarre. We should thank the other 31. He was tendered a 2nd round pick. If a team came in and offered $14-$16M per year which I think was fair at that time, does Jackson accept it? Does Bill match it?

I think he gets $18M+ per year. If he ends the year the way he’s playing now...he could exceed $20M per year.

Hopefully he goes up against Brown Sunday and I’m excited to see his rematch with Diggs on MNF.

Absolutely. We already had the same stupid John carroll deja vu busting on a 1st round RB (Maroney, Michel), 1st round WR (Chad Jackson, NKeal), two 3rd round TEs (Dave Thomas, Garrett Mills, Asiasi, Keene) from 2006-2008 and then again 2016-2019.

Do not make the same mistake and let your ballhawk CB1 go again and end up with a crap soft zone secondary that can't stop 3rd down.

Never believe what a player says. It’s all lip service and a tactic used by players to not burn bridges. He wants and deserves the Brink’s truck.

Why would he leave so much money on the table? That’s $66MM for four. He’s likely looking at $82MM for four, maybe more.
