Excepting 2000, this year has been the best draft of the BB era.

Jones after the game was asked how he's spend his first free Sunday of the season:

"Just get home and watch the film and relax with my family and just keep watching film."

Still don't get why some folks weren't high on Mac. Yes, only one season starting at Bama but it was a pretty decent season, and it wasn't all down to stellar WRs and RBs.

Its because they only look at “ceiling” in terms of pure athletic ability, but running and jumping aren’t the most important qualities for a QB, processing information and turning that into execution is far more valuable That said I agree with Edelman in that you need to see how QB’srespond to adversity to really get their measure. That doesn’t mean that if Jones fails to pull off a big comeback this season then he doesn’t “ have it,” it will be more of a long term measurement, and so far Jones appears to have the mental make up you really need from your QB. Every QB has to overcome a series of obstacles to demonstrate they are long term winners, overcoming injury, losing key players, overcoming a big loss, and overcoming defenses set to take away your strengths. I think Jones will get there but he will still have to face all these challenges to become great.

Borg. He actually seems ok here. There are a lot more.

While we are talking about Forges, I know Doug Kyed is here because he took exactly what I said and put it in an article the next day.
Forges... great name.

Germane to this conversation, on the Rich Eisen hot take piece on why no one else drafted Mac Jones, his co-host said Mac was a mini-van, reliable, gets the job done, unlike Trevor Lawrence who is a sports car, and some people will put up with the lower reliability to get a few more thrills in life.

Mac Jones, the Honda Odyssey of Quarterbacks!

IMO that's selling him short, but it's not a terrible "floor" to start from.

Our minivan is an Odyssey! No joke.

Yeah, that "disastrous" period from 2008 -> 2020, when Nick Caserio held the position of Director of Player Personnel.

Just to illustrate how disastrous that 12 year tenure was for this team, here are some stats from that period of time:

11 AFC East titles
8 AFC Championship appearances and 5 AFC Championship victories
5 Super Bowl appearances and 3 Super Bowl victories
153-55 regular season record
16-8 postseason record

Little Nicky didn't set the board from 2008 through 2012.

Really? Cool! And a little surprising.

I mean, I could see them copying Joker...

Yep. I didn't write a story or a long-winded post but it was just an observation. I think it was about using KVN more in coverage for a stretch and boom- it popped up in an article.

I think it's smart for him to come here and find stories to write about.

Reiss does the same thing sometimes.
