Jones after the game was asked how he's spend his first free Sunday of the season:
"Just get home and watch the film and relax with my family and just keep watching film."
Still don't get why some folks weren't high on Mac. Yes, only one season starting at Bama but it was a pretty decent season, and it wasn't all down to stellar WRs and RBs.
Its because they only look at “ceiling” in terms of pure athletic ability, but running and jumping aren’t the most important qualities for a QB, processing information and turning that into execution is far more valuable That said I agree with Edelman in that you need to see how QB’srespond to adversity to really get their measure. That doesn’t mean that if Jones fails to pull off a big comeback this season then he doesn’t “ have it,” it will be more of a long term measurement, and so far Jones appears to have the mental make up you really need from your QB. Every QB has to overcome a series of obstacles to demonstrate they are long term winners, overcoming injury, losing key players, overcoming a big loss, and overcoming defenses set to take away your strengths. I think Jones will get there but he will still have to face all these challenges to become great.
