Excepting 2000, this year has been the best draft of the BB era.

It’s certainly trending in that direction if Mac is the QB for years to come.

As of right now it’s 2010 1st and 2012 2nd.

Called it on Stephenson the second they called his name and I pulled out YouTube.

been hoping for a Wilfork level presence alongside some ends...

bill sucks, tbs gone... just throw the whole organization away!!!!

After the disastrous tenure of Little Nicky Caesar, it's about dam time.

Yeah, that disastrous period from 2008 -> 2020, when Nick Caserio held the position of Director of Player Personnel.

Just to illustrate how "disastrous" that 12 year tenure was for this team, here are some stats from that period of time:

11 AFC East titles
8 AFC Championship appearances and 5 AFC Championship victories
5 Super Bowl appearances and 3 Super Bowl victories
153-55 regular season record
16-8 postseason record

"That's because of the people Bobby Grier drafted..." or something

The best Patriot drafts were 2009-2012 while Floyd Reese and O'Brien were here helping BB, and next 2001-2004 when Pioli and Weiss were here to help BB.

The worst drafts were 2005-2008 and 2013-2019 with caserio and mcdaniels

David Terrell ain't walking through that door

The end of a giant in Boston sports. Full of hate. Which poster on PatsFans is Borges? You know the posters better than me.

what the **** has Uche done?

And sorry not sorry, but that Entire 3rd round was an unacceptable, inexcusable ****ing Catastrophe.
He’s got the 2008 Vrabel disease getting stonewalled at the LOS. OT’s aren’t phased by him right now in passing situations. I had high hopes for him after a stellar preseason and a fast start to this season, but he’s fallen off of a cliff.

And that 3rd round is looking pretty bad.

I'm gonna speak up for some of the under appreciated drafts of the era.

2001: This draft produced exactly two names, Seymour and Light, but these two players were the anchors of their lines for a decade, both are in the Patriots HOF, and one will likely wind up in the NFL HOF. Someone suggested 2012 as one of their best draft, but 2012 was a poor man's 2001.

2005: Outside of netting the best LG of his generation at #32 in a very weak class, the team managed to secure several starters in Kaczur, Hobbs and Sanders, as well as Matt Cassel who gave us hope in 2008 and netted us a 2nd round pick.

2009: This draft was universally proclaimed a bust by about 2012. Only Vollmer had gone one to do anything meaningful with the team. Then Edelman emerged as Welker's replacement, and Chung returned as a top level SS, then they went on to become legends.

2015: Getting Trey Flowers and Shaq Mason in rounds 4 and 5 was straight up theft.

2020. Ignore the TE position here, but Owenu is already a high level RT/LG, Dugger looks to be emerging as a very good physical safety, and Uche still has potential.

No love for Joshua Bledsoe? The board forgot the balance of our picks that have been stashed? The kid is tough and likes contact.

Got a motor on him

I'd completely forgotten about the defenders taken in this draft that were stashed with minor injuries or recovering from college ones. If any of those three become solid rotational players next year, it makes a huge difference in the free agent, aging, and retirement problem posed by HT, Mac, and Bentley.

Borg. He actually seems ok here. There are a lot more.

While we are talking about Forges, I know Doug Kyed is here because he took exactly what I said and put it in an article the next day.

Thanks. Too funny. Borges = Borg. How dumb am I for not seeing that one?
