I never pay for content. It's funny my kids are teenagers and they won't pay a dime for anything that is a pay for play except gaming stuff. I really think the paid content model is going to disappear with the next generation.

I suspect my kids and I are similar to your kids with games. I disagree about paying for content disappearing. It's only ramping up. Platform as a service, software as a service, etc, are hot markets in most tech industries. Plus look at Netflix, Amazon Prime, Patreon, and so on. We've just shifted away from readily available content like football talk. But who knows? You may be correct. I never seem to predict anything with much accuracy.

I agree about the platform services although I think that will condense eventually kind of the way cable did. When I said pay for content, I should have specified, informational content like articles and such. To pay to read someone's thoughts on anything is going the way of the dinosaur. I don't know how long Bedard will be able to get away with it. He has devolved into hot takes to try to stay relevant and keep people paying.
