OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Allen losing to the Jax pretty much takes him out of MVP discussion.
It's Brady as the front runner now his only competition is Stafford

Saints will have a tough time winning much with Siemian.

Hard to believe Rodgers is this fragile over Jordan Love.

Assuming the Bucs don’t lose another game would they have the tiebreaker over a 2 loss Arizona?

Harder to believe that they waisted a 1st rounder on him when they could have drafted an impact player for a perpetual SB contender. I'm not a fan of Rodgers but I get it on this one.

It was the guy's first start, on a short week because of the starter getting "sick", there was clearly no cohesion with the only WR on the team that matters, the special teams killed the team, and the defense failed to produce a turnover for the first time since week one.

I would fire Kyle Shanahan tomorrow.
Him and Lynch.
First they pass on the GOAT.
Then they undermine their starting QB Garrapolo by drafting Lance.
They were supposedly a SB contender but yet they waisted 2 1st round pick. Imagine they had drafted Pitts and had with Kittle. They could have had Gronk and Hernandez 2.0.

Is it that bad? They had just gone through a huge drama queen thing with Rodgers, and I’m sure he’s been *****ing for years about wanting to leave. It was the 26th pick, not like a top 10.

The Bucs just spent a second round pick on Trask despite neing even more all-in than the Packers.

The Patriots spent a second on Garoppolo in 2014, third on Brissett in 2016, third on Mallett in 2011, and third on O’Connell in 2008.

I seem to remember the Packers spending a first round pick in 2005 on some high ceiling project despite having their franchise QB still playing at a high level.

It’s the NFL. It only became a big, big, big deal because Rodgers cried about it. I’m not saying it was a good decision, but it’s over the top how ridiculed it is. The Packers have drafted so many talented players to build around Rodgers; they messed up that pick in retrospect. It happens. But only Rodgers seems to get every excuse made for him.

The Saints losing was huge. Even if Winston was returning next week, it was probably a blow that all but killed the team's chances as the division title.

Saints:

Titans
Eagles
Bills
Cowboys

Jets
Bucs
Dolphins
Panthers
Falcons

Bucs:

Redskins
Giants
Colts
Falcons
Bills
Saints

Panthers
Jets
Panthers

Looking at that schedule, it seems that the Saints need to sweep the Bucs to have a chance. And even that would likely still leave them as a long shot.

I'm talking more about SB contending teams that don't use their top picks to draft a player that can help them win now. A legit good team can make many backup QB look workable for a few games. Colt McCoy did fine today. So they don't have to waist a top draft pick on a backup QB to sit for 2 or 3 years.

I didn't even like the Bucs 2nd round pick on Trask as Gabbert is adequate if needed. Bucs could have really used a 2nd round corner back.

Brady just had the best bye week imaginable:

1. Rogers and Murray out
2. Dak and Allen put up horrible games

The MVP is his to lose now.

And then more importantly

Cowboys, Packers, Saints and to a lesser extent Panthers lose.

Cards and probably Rams win but still they are in the West and will beat each other up on the way to the playoffs.

And of course Brady’s old team got the W which I reckon will make him happy deep down.

Great weekend for Tommy
