And the one that rode the bench....and told a certain kid to, "just sling it, baby!"and only one of them won.

Still believe 1) Moss could and should have had that one if he really tried to get it and 2) that was a TD if it was thrown a couple of feet further. Probably an ending that wouldn't ever be matched in pro sports given what was at stake.SB42 was all about injuries, freak plays, and terrible officiating. Spagnolo didn't coach Brady into a sprained ankle. Spagnolo didn't coach Stephen Neal into a game ending injury. Spagnolo didn't coach the TEs into injury-based uselessness.
And Spagnolo sure as hell didn't coach the officials into letting all manner of penalties go on the Tyree catch, or Tyree into managing to "catch" a ball with his helmet, or Asante into missing an INT, or Hobbs into having a lower body injury and BB calling for an all out blitz which left Hobbs 1-on-1 with the comparatively healthy, and much taller, Plaxico Burress.
And, even with all that, the Patriots were Brady throwing a deep ball just 6 inches less deep from pulling out the win.
Great. I guess that means you dont have to follow the team anymore.Just got caught up on the last page of posts. Hmm..... if McD is going to be the successor then we don't have to spend all this time thinking about the team, anymore. It's going to go straight into the ground, this airplane is going to crash and burn. Just like Denver'10, St Louis'11, and pretty much the last 2.5 years are evidence of where this team is heading. No need to overthink it, the Patriots are going to suck (well they have already been bad since 2H'19 to now, if we're being honest)

That's another point not discussed...wouldnt he completely go Phil Jackson and (just like Brady) go to a team well poised to win? Why would he go to a crap team...think Las Vegas as better postured to win and available. If Kraft breaks his deal with Belichick there will be 25 teams salivating to hire him.
Watch what happens with Joe Judge - that would be my guess given that it's been somewhere he's always loved. That's another point not discussed...wouldnt he completely go Phil Jackson and (just like Brady) go to a team well poised to win? Yeah, but the Giants are a (way) worse talent base than even the Pats...if the goal is what many say of catching Shula...the Giants are probably further away than staying with the Patriots.Watch what happens with Joe Judge - that would be my guess given that it's been somewhere he's always loved.
And Spags is the D coordiantor for the chiefs, and was last year in the superbowl...so I guess the plan does not work without good players. Its amazing how good plans are when you have great players to run it.And Spags admitted he got that game plan from Romeo Crennel's defense against us in the Browns game that year. Of all people.
The Browns didn't have the players to run it properly but the Giants did...

I can't really feel sorry for him. He essentially ran Brady out of town. BB didn't have a back-up plan and he should have. If he didn't realize he wouldn't be "all that" without Brady, then he's a dummy and that's on him.
Oh, look. A voice of reason appears in the universe.I wouldn't say lower your expectations, but I would tell people to try and at least understand that we're in a different period which is sometimes necessary. Without the 2000 season, 2001 doesn't happen, etc. Just like without last year's 7-9 season, Mac doesn't end up here. And we're only six games in. Who knows how the next 11 play out and hopefully this upward trajectory will at least start translating into some wins down the stretch.
INo for 20 years players left all the time....except Brady, when he left then the record fell off the table. The pats had player turnover for the last two decades, they still won...until....Its not about losing players, we always did that. It was about having a player that could cover up for mistakes, cover up for young players, cover up for players leaving and still win. That is gone.
Lets say the gave Brady two years at 50 million, where do the cuts come from the rest of the roster? So we could have had Tom but the team would have been thin. BB thought he could squeeze another year or two out of TB and went all in and it worked, He couldnt keep it going much longer.I can't really feel sorry for him. He essentially ran Brady out of town.
