Sad to see BB's legacy ripped apart like this

I'm so thankful that I read your post..it added so much to my day....keep contributing wonderfully to this forum with your knowledge and insights and keep sharing family information.
He is right. I mean we can live in this fantasy land where all things are rainbow colors and things always work out, but that is not reality. The games were losses, lots of things lead to losses, not just one play here and there. One play does not make you win or lose. Its a combination of a lot of plays.

is brady the only player that left?

seems like in the salary cap era, 20 years of winning catches up at some point.....in fact, it's starting to catch up with KC already, after a much shorter time....sustained success is extremely difficult in todays NFL

losing the GOAT QB hurt, but it was hardly the only loss......just like gaining the GOAT QB helped TB, but was hardly the only reason for their succes
Nearly impossible to be successful in this league without a franchise QB. Everyone other player is replaceable except for that position. And Brady was a cut above as the GOAT as he averaged 12 wins a season.

People on here having their go at Belichick for a weird pandemic season which they used to fix the cap and now in a season with a huge roster turnover with a rookie QB where they are a few mental errors/plays away from being potentially a 5-1 team

Miami game- Harris doesn't fumble- potential W

Tampa game- Meyers wide open on that tipped pass- potential W

Dallas game- Agholor drop in OT- potential W

even could say the NO game was a potential W if it wasn't for the ball that floated in the air after Mac got hit and then Smith dropping a pass into their lap.

People in here like Pats are getting blown out by 20 points a game, FOH
And if my grandmother had balls she'd be my grandfather.

and before he left they were in salary cap hell.....the cupboards were finally bare, the cap and other factors finally caught up with them - in fact that's likely the reason brady DID leave.....to say brady leaving is the only reason they are where there are is, well, kind of ignoring the entire 2019 season?
So for 20 years, the cap was fine, everyone was great, and then he leaves and all of the sudden we have cap issues and players are bad? What an amazing coincidence. The 2019 season that we were 12-4? Yeah the players sucked, the receivers were awful, and we won 12 games, that cannot happen now. Fact is, the player that covered a lot of the issues that teams have like cap, bad player pickups bad drafts, is gone.

No matter whether you love Bill or hate him, its hard and sad to see his legacy get ripped to shreds like this. As the mediocrity continues it will only get worse.

They have been ripping him for as long as he has been here, so I wouldn’t expect anything less. What is however disgusting and disgraceful is the Patriot fans who are sh.tting all over him, that takes a special kind of ignorance and lack of character.

Nobody is ****ting on him. But why is it when the pats win he gets praised but if they lose, he should receive no critiques? So when we win, he gets the glory, but he is off limits if we lose?

In 2019 Tom didn't cover for anything. The roster's true talent started to show after Halloween.

When the NEP had strong rosters they won championships or came very close.

When the rosters were passable, they went to the playoffs or came close.

We were not 7-9, we didnt lose 4 straight home games. We made the playoffs. So yeah, some thing were covered up. This team right now, is far more talented than the 2019 and we are 2-4.

They started 8-0 and went 4-5 the rest of the way. That's not covering it up. That's getting exposed.

I don't think that is the case.

the teams averaged 12 wins per season with him as the QB......he has zero wins in his career

how'd 2019 work? would they have been able to rebuild around him, and would he have stayed for the level of rebuild that was necessary? they needed to replace too much.....they needed to turnover more than they ever had in his 20 years

Bullsh.t!

My mistake, I should have checked the name on this post, I try to ignore trolls like you.

That is the case, and 12-4 is 12-4. 80 mil dollars was just spent on 2 receivers and 2 TE's that all performed well in other places. in 2019....we had an undrafted rookie. Harry....and an Edelman who gave up his body and health for this team. No TE's. So yeah, its better

He actually used a lot of seasons in the story, not just a season and a half.
Then im glad I didn’t waste time reading the trash.

2019? The team was 12-4....How much turnover actually happened. Do you remember 2009? How about 2011? 2011 they replaced the entire freaking receiving corp. In 2009 the entire defense was replaced. We didnt go 7-9, we didnt lose 4 straight home games. Remember 2002? That entire rebuild lasted all of an offseason. Now all of the sudden at the same time Brady leaves, we can no longer turn it around quickly? Have a season where we go 10-6 and lose in the second round? That was the rebuilds before. Now its do things as bad as its been since 1993.

QBs carry a win/loss record.

In 2019 we went 12-4 and won the division. It was a fine season with a home playoff game.

Of course they could have rebuilt around him but Bill chose not to and spent the $165 mil on other players.

wins are not an individual stat, wins are a team stat......to credit them to QBs is wholly a media creation and ignores the fact that football is the ultimate team sport

it's a wholly misguided notion IMHO.......

This is so incredibly tone deaf.
Belichick is the leader of the organization. He is ultimately responsible for all of the success or failure.
What you seem to not understand is that he delivered an ungodly amount of success and you are peeing your pants over the rare down years, that everyone else who has ever done it has had.
On balance he could have 10 straight losing seasons and would still have been incredibly great.

It's not a media creation. Lol.
It's an NFL stat. Same as pitchers in baseball.

They couldn’t rebuild in 2020 because they had no money to spend.
If you honestly think that it is a good plan to say, ok we have to rebuild, will struggle to bring anyone in this year, and have to turn over half the team next year, so let’s make that 43 year old QB the keystone to the rebuild I don’t know what to tell you.
