N'Keal Harry Might've Clinched the Title of 'Worst Acquisition of Belichick's Career' Last Night

Your team is down by six in the 4th quarter. Your quarterback has led you 60 yards thanks to a 21-yard gap run by your lead running back. You're facing a 2nd & 5 in the red zone. The signal comes for you to motion from the boundary side slot to the field side. And you're off somewhere in your own little bubble.

Mac Jones does that heel step thing to signal Harry into motion. Harry doesn't see it. So he hand gestures. No response. He tries tapping it out in Morse Code on David Andrews ass cheeks. Starts flashing an Aldis lamp. Tears his hand towel in two to signal in Semaphore. Begins to finally try to connect psychically with his wideout using Astral Projection. Before he finally just screams out for Harry to wake up and get in the play as the play clock counts down like in every Sci-Fi movie where a space ship/station has been set to Self-Destruct mode. Even as Tony Romo is about to have a coronary, Jones has to re-yell the play to Harry as he runs by, but has the presence of mind to realize it's been busted beyond his ability to repair it, so he airmails the ball above Jonnu Smith.

Note that this is Harry's third season. He was first handed a playbook in May of 2019. A simpler time in the long, long ago when people still did things like go to movies and Corona was something you drank. Mac Jones first saw his about six months ago. But he knows what the playcall is. So does Harry's other nine teammates.

If Jonnu doesn’t improve he’s going to take that title from Harry based on his contract alone.

I was going to post the same thing. Based on Thornton’s own definition, which is what was given up and the return in investment, Harry is no worse than Easley, Dowling, etc. Jonnu is well on his way to being the worst signing under Belichick, and probably the most indefensible considering his previous mediocre/low level of play and ridiculous contract guarantees.

Is Harry simply a bad footballer or does he just not understand the playbook? Would he perhaps be successful in an easier to grasp system? Struggling to nail down exactly what his problem is.

Are we going here after 6 games into a contract that will likely span at least 68 games?

We all remember how Gilmore looked after 4-5 games in a Patriots' uniform, right? Give the guy some time. From what I've seen he's engaged, not malcontent, celebrating with teammates, smiling in the locker-room.

Jonnu needs to step his game up and the offense needs to find ways to get him involved. He has plenty of athletic/physical talent, that's for sure. He's the type of player this offense needs right now; ironically, he's a modern, athletic playmaker in space folks are saying this offense lacks.

They need to throw him some drags/slants/flats in space 4-5 times per game, at a minimum. Some red-zone targets in the form of fades and slants/box-outs would be nice to see too.

The myopia of not playing well and losing sets in, while these were draft failures no team is completely successful in the draft... every team has hits and misses, meanwhile the last two years have shown significant improvement. Some of the aforementioned names take place in the way back machine.

When you look at the other receivers drafted with him he's a huge dissapointnent. That draft was full of receivers. And we drafted the one who can't play. Imagine if we drafted DK Metcalf or Deebo instead

What are you even saying?
I think their point was something like "How dare you criticize this franchise while displaying their achievments directly underneath in your signature? You are not allowed to care about something and criticize it at the same time"

while i may or may not agree with the point to some degree, that has to be the most god awful piece of writing i've seen in some time.....glad the actual site is blocked here at work

jesus that is painful
