NFL investigation-WFT emails...

Shall I venmo you a couple a bucks so you can read the article?
No, I get the gist from the tweets. It's "interesting" but not a meal.

For those who can't get past the paywall, check this out:

The NFL investigates Washington for a rules violation, finds evidence of wrongdoing and assesses a fine. Bruce Allen reaches out to his friend Jeff Pash, tells him the fine is "BS," and Pash makes the whole thing go away. If only Belichick/Kraft knew that option was available, the Patriots would have had two more first round picks, an extra $1.75 million in the bank, and Brady on the field for every game in 2016.

I do. But I'm a weirdo like that. And since all of my emails, passwords, etc. are on there and I know that data can be recovered even after it's wiped, it's just something I refuse to do. Not saying I'm right, just saying the nutcase in me won't let me feel good enough to do it.
You aren't the nutcase. Society's general oblivion to internet security is an issue. Hell, MO governor just announced a 50 million investigation to determine the actors behind the "hack" that uncovered a MO school website page that contained all their teacher's ssn's in the source html. The "hacker" is a journalist. A journalist who noticed, verified that 3 ssn's were in fact ssn's, and then alerted the state and gave them time to remedy the issue before going to print.

Private biz typically offers bounties for this type of thing (typically such elementary failures don't happen in private biz)...its absolutely appalling.

Michael Silver said that? Whoa.

That's... quite the turnaround of his opinion on this subject from a few years ago when he kept doubling down on the idea that Brady was a cheater.

I don't think this is news though, right? We knew Pash (or I at least remember) edited the Deflategate Report years ago. The stuff going on now with WFT just reiterates that the NFL is dishonest in everything it does.

I found this background on Allen interesting. Basically the guy is hired because of his name (he's George Allen's son, who was a long time Redskins coach who ended up in the Hall of Fame, thus a local and national legend) and was/is well versed on NFL politics after being GM of Tampa for a few years. His brother was a US Senator and Governor of Virginia. The stuff with Pash makes sense in that context. Sausage making, indeed.

The interesting thing to me is that there are more leaks coming from the 650,000 emails. Does NYT have a copy of the entire dump? Or who would be leaking stuff on Pash now? Does Goodell want him out too?

It was clear years ago.

At least we have proof now. I hope the emails from the WFT investigation keep coming...hopefully some stuff on Spygate and Deflategate that make the Pats look good.

Whatever. They were fine before.

I agree with both. I love to see anything that shows even more evidence what a sh!t show that Park Avenue is. I also agree that we have all the evidence needed to show that Deflategate was total BS. The fans of the other 31 still are going to go with the opposite no matter what else comes out of the woodwork. Heck even if we had an insider confess it was all a sham we'd still have "truthers" saying that confession was a sham because the idea that the Patriots were "cheaters" fits their preconceived notions too well. They can't just accept that the Dynasty was that much better than they were, no matter what, even though it's clear we were. The fact that we had even more success after the suspension, fines and loss of draft picks still doesn't seem to register with them.

He's not the only lawyer working 345 Park Ave.

I know it's not going to happen, but now I'm just fantasizing about these emails being leaked and containing proof that Pash set us up. Somehow this would result in the Patriots losing another first round pick.

OT-I think it was also Bruce Allen who had Diana Russini from BSPN on the side and when the wife found out she went on a Twitter rampage

I agree. If they're leaking emails that make NFL inside counsel look bad then someone other than NFL brass has access to these emails. Somebody dump them in a flash drive for future use? It's definitely getting interesting and this one is just going to raise the pressure further into all being released. It would be nice if these continue to get leaked in dribbles every week to make Park Ave look like the scumbags they are.
