Content Post Things I Thought and Now Think

This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.
Two weeks into the season, and we're already down to just 6 undefeated teams. Not only that, but the six are in just 3 divisions (2 in each). The Patriots method of considering the first 4 weeks of the season as an extended training camp because of all the CBA changes seems to be spreading across the league.

Here’s a thing I think : Darnold is happy to leave NJ…
I'm happy everytime I hit Delaware on my way back from Maine.

I agree with you, but there have been a lot more flags this year. They took away practice time several years ago. They simply removed the fourth pre-season game. That is a game where most players in the top 35-40 on the roster don't step on the field. So that can't simply explain away a 25% increase in penalties called. I know taunting has become a point of emphasis, but so far only 10 have been called.

I am not sure what the root cause of it is. But its been a noticeable and significant increase and it is not good for the product.
Football to me has been ruined by the officiating for years now but I'm not surprised that it's getting worse. I just can't figure out why.

Speaking of taunting, I hope someone speaks to JC Jackson about his constant need to rub plays in opponents faces. There was one time during the Texans' game where he was about to stand over and taunt a player who was down on the sideline and he had to be pulled away by someone standing there before he got flagged. At some point he may cost the Pats a W if he keeps up that nonsense.

JC is a talented player but I see constant signs that he thinks he is much better than he really is. He'll leave to "feed his family" after a franchise season.

This is a really great thread with good information and rationale. I highly recommend it to be read.

Can you please keep this thread going through next season, I do find it very helpful (not joking). Thanks!!

This might (hopefully) end up being hyperbole, but I’m hard pressed to think of a worse OL on the team than Durant since BB took over. He’s been brutal to watch so far.

Agree. Karras has been great. So play Karras at LG and move Onwenu to RT. Herron showed me he can play ok LT so play Herron at LT.

Durant should never play.

If Onwenu is activated but both Wynn/Lose and Shack Mason are ruled out, then this would be my starting lineup:

Herron - Karras - Andrews - Onwenu - Cachoo. They're our best 5 OLmen available, period.

Durant should never play.

Completely agree; and neither should any of the 4 on the PS.

Jordan Devey.
Grant “look out Drew” Williams
Newhouse.

I think we should trade for Isabella and a corner.

we should be able to find at least one team willing to trade for winovich?
