Wickersham book discussion

Sounds like absolutely nothing new. No one on the record to say anything meaningful just a collection of things we already knew.

There are several posters, most of them mods who feel Bill can do know wrong and is above criticism. Team Bill was worse when Matt Chatham was around and he was the biggest bill fan boy. We had to listen to Chatham podcast here every week, and a group text was started by Bruinz and luked and fan boys were recruited to their team bill slob fest
The most pretentious and often wrong of the bunch.

There was a sudden power outage in the Patriots locker room at halftime of SB52 while the team was trying to figure out what was wrong on defense.

Huh. First I’ve heard of this. Can you imagine what would be said if this happened to a Patriots super bowl opponent?

On the SB52 strip sack of Brady:
- Brady was supposed to throw short and quick to White on the outside but then he locked on to Gronk deep downfield
- When Brady did see White open it was too late the ball was out. Completely vindicates Brady for this play IMO. His protection was completely blown.
- But the coaches were still angry at Brady for holding on to the ball and not seeing White earlier. SMH

Also:
- Brady was furious at the loss. 613 yards of offense and didn’t punt once.
- Some of the coaches blamed Patricia for the loss.
- Brady after the game told some of the coaches he wasn’t coming back.
- A lot of players were angry at BB for the Butler benching

Wickersham sticks with the BS narrative around deflategate like how the balls were noticeably “soft” none of the Colts balls were under 12.5 PSI

This is how false stories, like the "taped Rams walkthrough," stay alive. People with a platform, like Wickersham, keep repeating the incorrect information and it goes unchallenged. There is no evidence to back up the claim that the Colts footballs didn't lose pressure during that game. The NFL and Ted Wells didn't even try to perpetuate that myth. Yet no one in sports media or any professional reviewer is going to write something like "Repeating this false storyline undermines Wickersham's credibility."

From what Wickersham was saying it sounds like even without the argument between Butler and Patricia - that Patricia thought less of Butler leading up to that Super Bowl than even Bill himself did.

I wonder if Patricia was BB's fall guy. Maybe that's why Bill helped him find a new job (according to the book).

Tough break for wickersham that his new book would get trumped by the gruden news.

O’Brien says the Pats coaching staff didn’t consider Welker’s SB drop a drop. It was a bad throw by Brady. LOL. Ok
It was both. A bad pass and a bad drop.

Tough break?

1) it was in the headlines for all of the Tampa week, many people thought it was already out.

2) if Wickersham is to be believed and that BB (plus Kraft) and Goodell are a lot closer than anyone imagined…. Well, it would be an interesting “break” that the Gruden emails just happened to get leaked from the league office to reporters now…..

Maybe Wickersham could write a book about all the terrible stuff going on behind the scenes with the football team in Washington.
Just kidding, it doesn't involve the Patriots.

I've never gotten over Kraft's antics during deflategate. Brady's a son, yeah, I don't think so, Bobby. The biggest bendover exercise for something that the Patriots never did. Conspiracy to get us, and Bob eagerly gives in, to be a good partner? How about being a better team owner, and going to the wall to defend your son. If you had, #12 would have never left. Thanks, Bobby..

I'm sure Matt Walsh was just running his mouth about taping the Rams walkthrough or maybe he was joking about it and somehow Tomase got wind of it anyway- but if he was serious he is an absolute moron if he thought it would be ok to do something like that.

And then years later Kraft hires guys who think it's ok to point a camera at another team's sideline and the team is punished for that too.

What in the AF are they doing hiring these idiots?

Re your second point: I think it says more about the league losing their mind over a innocent mistake than it does about Kraft Sports vetting camera guys filming b-roll for a local TV broadcast.

I have no problem with people who want to blame Brady or at least put some of the blame on Brady for the strip sack in the superbowl. If anyone associated with the defensive performance of the team has something to say about it though, they should shut up. The offense did its job and no Brady isn't some god that doesn't have bad plays.

And Dante Scarneccia’s son goes to Denver with McDaniels and thinks it’s ok to film a walkthrough?

They’ve hired a lot of idiots and people that just plain don’t care. Speaks poorly of them that it’s happened so much.

Never said it wasn't. But it was a bad pass.
It wasn't a great pass but it was there. Bad pass to me would have been a complete miss or a hospital ball or a Cam Newton ball. LOL
