It's not been just one game where he stunk, and a trio of games where he was good at it, and I wouldn't necessarily agree with your take even if it were. He's a rookie who's learning the NFL game, and he's doing it with an ok, but not outstanding arm, for a team with a very small margin for mistakes. I think the current strategy has been working, in terms of QB development.
I agree with the current strategy too, but not because i think it's a weakness in his game. I don't think any rookies should be asked to throw deep very often. Once he gets more familiar with the pace of the game at this level, I believe it will be a strength of his. Its totally fine that we disagree with that assessment. There isn't enough proof either way.

This thread should be used in advanced studies on the effect of attitude and mindset in human success and happiness, with Optimism vs. Pessimism being the primary focus.

lmao, this is exactly what I was thinking about while reading this thread, but I also think there are different mindsets on this forum. I think there are those who are thinking in terms of this season, and I think there are those looking at it in terms of a rebuild, where finding the franchise QB is like being the one with the queen left playing chess. I’m in the latter category, if they have the franchise QB in Jones, which I think they have, then they are well in their way to being true contenders going forward, and the transition from Brady dynasties to their future is much farther along. I’m going to be really interested to watch how they compete for the rest of this season

I think the Pats have a losing record since wearing the monochrome uniforms since 2002. It was rumored they ditched them because they kept losing in those. Then they brought them back but can’t remember when. They won once in 2018. I think they lost wearing them in 2019 vs Chiefs and I can’t remember if they wore them again. 7-9 last year and 1-3 this year. Those abomination of uniforms needs to go!

I think we've seen enough to understand the reluctance. I don't think we've seen enough to call it certified proven.

They're using Jakobi Meyers for the deep passes. It's a platoon that just hasn't been made public.

Are the Meyers’ passes an indictment of Jones’ down the field accuracy or the inability to protect Jones enough to develop down the field plays. The Meyers’ passes were all misdirection plays allowed the plays to develop and allowed Meyers to throw deep. These weren’t direct snaps to Meyers.

I am sure any “NFL window” that Meyers can thread, so can Jones.

i think 4-3 is tough with these oponnents...buffalo cleveland and chargers, dallas seem strong right now. But i hope it happens.
It's going to be tough when 4 of those teams are top 5 in rushing ypg. and we're allowing 122 ypg.

Sure, I get it...that's fine I'll try not to do that. It just annoys me that we literally have people rooting against Bill on this forum just so that Brady looks better than he does. That's not patriots fandom.
Like "I'll try not to do that."
Translation: "I'll continue stirring the pot every chance I can get away with it."

You were instrumental in getting the thread moved to a separate forum because it hurt your sensitivity. Yet here you are literally dragging posts from over there to here. You're such a feeble weak child.

Bill and Tom met after the game yesterday. People are ready to move on. Like Ice said, nobody is gloating.

Just stop dude. Stop. You're annoying AF.

Ask any moderator if I was "instrumental" in getting the Brady forum created.

And if I'm annoying, why don't you have me on ignore?

Oh, and when are you going to put Antonio Winfield as your avatar again? Your current avatar is meant to trash Bill, who held Brady to 1 TD drive and a bunch of FGs yesterday.

I don’t care what Lazar says, that’s WIDE OPEN in the NFL.

Wasn't that when he checked it down and it almost got intercepted? In any event, he needs to stop throwing passes on the run across his body. He's no Mahomes

Wow - I can’t believe how blatant this pick play is. Henry takes out Sherman. That’s why Meyers was so wide open.

If it had been called, I wonder if Arians chooses 3rd and 13 or 4th and 3.

I am pointing out the o-line wasn't all that bad in 2019. The INTs were on Winston. He still passed for 5100 yards and 33 TDs behind an alleged horrible o-line. That's my point. QBs don't pass for over 5,000 yards if the o-line is horrible.
My god the bucs are spectacular.

Yes because the WR tackles the RB on a single play, that proves that the Bucs' o-line was awful in 2019. You got me there.

Brady suggested that he didn’t really enjoy beating the Pats in his podcast with Jim Gray this week:

And the team I like to beat the least is obviously the Patriots. Again, those are my guys, man. Those are the other warriors that I went to battle with for so long. I’ve had a lot of battles over the years with different teams, there’s a lot of mutual respect in pro sports, but glad I’m through with the one last night

He needed to hold them to 3 field goals. We lost. And instrumental or not you were the loudest public complainer.

That’s a standard rub route. Nothing blatant about it.

I watched the entirety of the play and it looks pretty borderline to me. Sherman gets his hands on Henry early, and then Henry initiates mutual contact, and at some point Sherman lets go and throws his arms up. I wouldn't call it a blatant "pick", the contact was mutual. It wasn't like Henry hip-checked a DB to get a receiver open.

Do you realize Sherman is not defending Henry? Meyers is his man…he’s trying to shake Henry to cover his assignment. He’s not initiating any contact for that reason…he’s trying to get around Henry.

That’s the entire point of a rub route. It’s a grey area and the type of play the Pats have run hundreds of times over the last decade. Only this time, it’s against your favorite team .

To my eye it appears Sherman extends his arms and gets two hands on Henry's shoulders before Henry initiates any contact.
