Kicking the 56 yard FG vs going for it on 4th and 3

I would have gone for it on fourth but he almost got the kick through. If we had Mac go for it and missed we’d be asking why not take a chance at the FG? Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

If Folk had been performing poorly or totally shanked it I might have a different opinion but overall he has been pretty reliable and just barely missed.

I'm talking about your opinion that I would have been mad at either decision if it failed. I think that's a bad faith way to approach someone who disagrees with you.
Jah, Bad faith? I dont think so. I consider it an honest observation based on whats been going on on these boards since Brady walked out the door.

I have tried very hard to stay out of that argument. But its spilled out everywhere. this is just another example of it.

Matt Cassel on the post game was saying that the previous play, which was a batted down pass, probably played huge into the greatest coach in the history of the games decision to kick that field goal in the pouring rain from 56 yards.
I find it really hard to believe that McDaniel's doesn't have a go to play or two for a gotta have it fourth and less than five situation.
as plenty of other people on here have said even if that field goal is good, Brady gets the ball back having to go 50 yards at the most. and he has one minute and two timeouts to do it.
let's not forget that since the 8-0 start in 2019, the head coach has coached this team to a 12-17 record....

this isnt a bad team, we arent getting blown out in the losses, its just bad situational football. Damien harris holds onto the football and we win that game. BB decides to go for it and trust mac on 4th and 3 and I think we have a better chance.

The forum is not a hivemind, it is comprised of individuals. I am many things, including emotional, but I think if you paid specific attention to my posts (I'm not enough of a narcissist to expect that of you) you would see I'm consistent in my opinions. I am telling you that I would have backed Belichick's decision if he tried and failed to go for this 4th down. Why not believe me?

No chance with 50 seconds and two timeouts that Brady doesn’t put his team in position for the GWFG after a successful FG. We all know he would.

Convert and now there’s a more makeable FG and the Bucs have to use timeouts and they don’t have the 50 seconds anymore.

Just an awful call by the coaches to kick there.

Then dont tell me my posts are made in bad faith when i disagree with you.

My posts are based on my observations.

New flash- when your team plays close games all the time, you will lose some of them.
Expect lots more of these for the rest of the season. Maybe we win half of them in the end.

I don't think you know what bad faith actually means. Good night.

For those saying "oh it was maybe a good decision"

I searched for all 56 yarders of Nick Folks history

Im like 78% confident he is 1-4 on his life

So yeah, 25% guy on that range huh

BIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGGG DECISION BB

Bill lost this game with that call. Sorry

How about you show us your work?
Despicable, nonsensical, cowardly call.

A 56-yarder is a very, very difficult FG in any circumstance let alone in these conditions.

You get a first down, at worst you kick a 52-yarder for the win. You control your own destiny, you have a TO, you can have a couple of plays for a decent FG attempt.

Even if Folk made it, there were 50 seconds and 2 TO’s and it’s Brady with the ball only needing FG range.

Give your young QB a chance to win the game. Horrible decision from every angle.

Nonsense. As an absolute minimum that joint probabilities for either decision are very close, with the uncertainties introduced by the particular circumstances (heavy rain - both both teams! - and inability to run on the TB D) too big to make one or the other call a clear winner.

agreed on all accounts

we are 1-3 this season. That is not good.

I was wrong about my prediction. I thought the bucs would blow out the patriots. I didn’t take into consideration the weather and poor officiating. MAtt judon played an incredible game

wrong decision to kick the field goal. The belichick of 03 makes the wiser decision
