What you're doing here is going out with your buddies hoping she'll walk into the bar or whatever the young people go out to now, celebrating when she walks in by buying everybody a round, then falling silent, drooling, while she picks up the new guy. Then maybe lurking outside the men's room and getting video.

I loathe these relationship comparisons. No one is married to their sports teams or players. We are fans which stands for fanatic. People are more than capable of rooting for their local team while also rooting for their favorite players. There is no cheating or infidelity in such relationships given there is no personal relationship just an appreciation for excellence on display on the football field.
