Boston Globe: "Patriots Need to Protect Mac Jones Before the Developmental Damage is Done"

That's right, let's completely ignore this one, OLine has no issues and Mac isn't being beaten into oblivion every week

.
no, no, you're right... Belichick should really listen to someone named "Tara Sullivan" regarding personnel moves....

No you're right. Absolutely no issues with the Offensive Line. 18 hits last game, 15 hits in week1, not a problem !! let's ruin Mac like Sam Bradford was ruined back in 2011....

Oline will get better. Mac Jones threw one of the best deep balls in college. So far he hasn’t been close, even when he’s had time. I’m gonna chalk it up to being a rookie, playcalling and protection. Hopefully that completion percentage improves. It can’t get worse. Still a lot to like about Mac and people just need to be reminded he is still just a rookie.

It's hard to throw with set feet deep if you're under pressure within 1.7 seconds of the snap.

.

That really baffles me btw. One of our projected strengths with the run game has been abysmal.
The talent is there so they don’t need their hands held by a Coach. One guy on the right side should not derail an entire unit.

Very disappointing.

The whole OLine is playing poorly. RT is a key position and you can't really pass if your RT provides zero pass blocking. What's even weirder is I watch replays and the left side is having issues, Wynn looks like a backup scrub right now at LT.

RB pass blocking has also been below par, except for James White...Oh wait!

Picking up Wynn’s option was a horrible move as I complained about during the off-season. He’s been on IR for 3 straight years but gets his option picked up? The money is not the issue as the Pats had plenty of it. The issue is rewarding a guy who doesn’t deserve it and he’d have way more motivation to do well if that option was taken from him.

Could have taken that money and I don't know, keep your DPOY star cornerback happy....

Meh, he got paid like a rock star. Everything front loaded. Not feeling sorry at all about the piddly 7 million for year 5. He was rightfully the highest paid cb but somehow this 5th year is an insult?

You do know this guy isn’t taking a 1 or 2 year extension right? Would you suggest they give him another max 4 or 5 year deal? Maybe one like Jalen Ramsey’s 5 yr 100 million? He’s 2 years out of the dpoy and on the other side of 30 now. They’ll get 2 and maybe at most 3 years out of him unless he goes on some magical avocado fountain of youth diet.

I don’t have the answers either. Wynn has shown promise but he’s also been injury prone. He’s also only 24. It’s easy to second guess them signing the option, especially the way these guys have played the first 3 games. At this point I’m hoping they turn it around or else I may have to agree with you.

Why splurge so much on free agency only to have your star CB miss half the year due to being unhappy

Why save some money upsetting your star corner if you're going to spend 150m on a bunch of free agents.

This thread, as a longtime fan, is where my focus is. I feel both Brady and Bill can elevate a franchise...absolutely unequivocally no doubt. The difference is Brady is a player and that is the difference. What he does matters/mattered/will matter.

Bill said it 100 times over, it is about the players. They play the game.

I am very appreciative of Brady.

- I was on my couch downstairs thinking, 'man, the Falcons are thumping us' and that punch in the gut feeling. ....and then they come roaring back.
- I was at a friend's house thinking ' this weather is terrible, they have no shot with this kid'...then they drive the field for a GW FG.
- I was in the garage thinking ' this Rams defense is too dominant'...and then TB12 hits Gronk setting up a GW TD
- I was in the living room thinking ' this Ravens team is too physical, we have tried everything....then Brady absolutely drops it in perfectly to LaFell.

Time and again the plays were made by the player. Time. And. Again.

I am not village idiot enough to compare Mac to Brady but from my untrained eye Mac wants it man. He works hard. Brady's Buccaneer ship has sailed. Mac is our guy. Like I have said many times on here we go as far as the offensive line will take us. They need to figure this out cause to me, they have a guy under center that will control what he can control. Brady is not the only cat that wants to win.

So very appreciative of Tom. So many great memories. Protect that young man and he will get this team back to the playoffs i truly believe.

I believe in Mac Jones...

Yea Mac has all the potential. Works so hard, wants it, has the skill. Hope he doesn't get wrecked by the same oc who screwed up Sam Bradford.

while the pass protection has been less than stellar, both from the OL and RB positions, Mac also needs to learn to move in the pocket......it took Brady time to learn how to slide up, take a few steps here or there to buy some time and help the protection.....some of these hits are on him, typical young QB

didn't see his development being harmed a whole hell of a lot last night
