Wickersham book discussion

If the Giants tell BB indirectly - they can't do it blatantly or that's tampering - that their job is his if he wants it then I think all bets are off.
If they send out feelers to gauge Bill's interest I would think that would be the only other job he would take.

  • Agree
Reactions: sb1
I wouldn't be surprised if Joe Judge gets fired in NY...so far he's been all talk and nothing to show for it. That would open up the NYG coaching position for Bill if he wanted it.
That’s a big part of the reason why I asked that question.

Good to see the National Enquirer is still printing... Haven't seen it in the super market lately... good to know they have moved onto sports books...

don't think i will read this one... i'm sure i will get all the anti-BB rhetoric i need from the Bradytonians and the anti-Brady inside info from the Sons of Belichick...

< sigh >

The book seems to be doing a pretty good job of painting Brady in a negative light too, FWIW.

  • In the lead-up to Super Bowl LII against the Philadelphia Eagles, Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler and defensive coordinator Matt Patricia traded heated words at practice over the former Super Bowl hero's lack of effort. Butler was demoted. At the team party after New England's loss, Butler responded to teammates asking why he was benched by saying, "These dudes," referring to the coaches, according to the book, "these mother f---ers."

Sorry... if this is why this happened this is still not an acceptable reason.
Let's suppose "this" was......
Butler: You guys wouldn't give me the $$$ I wanted. You wouldn't trade me so I could get me my $$$.....and I'll be out of here after this game. Why the frick should I give any effort and expose my body to injury when a dump truck full of $$$ will be waiting for me after this game. Pound sand fat man.

In other words, he may have been in 'Deion Sanders' mode====> Don't make tackles in contract years

The NFL is a multi billion dollar business. I don't think any of us appreciate how large a number that is. Kraft certainly does, however. He is smart enough to realize the even if Bill is a eff'n a-hole, he's making Kraft chit ton of money.
I did the math once now revising....

In 2000 the average NFL team was worth $423B
In 2021 the average NFL team was worth $3.5B

That is 8+x increase in valuation over a 21 year period.

In 2000 the NEP franchise valuation was $464B
In 2021 the NEP was worth $5B

That is a 10+x increase in valuation over a 21 year period.

They way I see it, BB and TB12 have made Orchids of Bob $1.5B.

Bill stood up for Patricia over Butler. Pissing off Brady and Gronk and here we are. Nice going coach.

HAHAHAHAHA the explanation for Butler’s benching. What ****ing idiocy by that fat slob, Patricia.
It was Bill's decision, he's the HC. This is shameful and disgusting. So they lied about Malcolm not being ready or able to contribute. Not surprising.

Say Belichick does leave - who's going to replace him? Hope it's not McD...@Dropkickflutie would have a heart attack.

I'm with Bill here. F Mangini.

To me the most damaging stuff is the story of Kraft b-tching in Colorado about BB being an ahole. That might make things awkward....
Doubt it. Bill is an unmitigated azzhole and he knows it. No surprise there.

It was so difficult that he married one of the most famous and successful women in the world. I think he adjusted pretty well.
The "regular guy" upgraded celebrity slam pieces every other year until one of Leo's cast-offs hit the market

  • Toward the end of the dynastic run, Belichick commissioned an internal study to examine the traits of transcendent athletes. Jordan, Bryant, Woods and Brady were interviewed, among others. The study revealed that while the motivations of the rest of the elite athletes centered around the themes of rage and manufactured conflict, Brady was different. He felt most at the peak of his powers "not when he was measuring the size of the chip on his shoulder, but when he was in a loving and supportive environment," Wickersham writes

So Brady wanted to be coddled?
yeah like little Mac.

Kraft complained about BB… is this like that time Wickersham said Brady locked JimmyG out of the TB12 center and two beat reporters discovered Jimmy had his own key to get in?

Guy was excommunicated from Foxboro years ago, but we’re supposed to believe he has insider access… he’s a clown and a fraud.

Lack of effort is not an acceptable reason for demotion?

Patricia probably thought he was some sort of defensive genius and didn't need Butler..and instead got his ass handed to him by Nick Foles lol. But to be fair, Bill did say it was performance reasons for Butler's benching, so it could be that Patricia got into a heated argument with Butler because he wasn't practicing well.
I imagine it went something like

(1) Butler practices poorly
(2) Patricia and Butler get into it
(3) Butler gets demoted to 3rd string CB
(4) Butler cries on the sideline
(5) BB/Patricia think Butler isn't mentally fit to play and so gets benched

The only part that doesn't make sense is why BB/Patricia didn't figure out at some point during the game that Butler couldn't possibly play any worse than the players on the field.
