Belichick says Brady's departure was not a matter of not wanting him

It’s Brady/Bucs week. If every other football outlet/news/forums are discussing it, you’d think a Patriots fan forum would be.
The game lost a little bit of luster with both teams losing last week, but I would expect it to pick back up by the end of the week.

Whether he should or not isn't really the debate. Bill didn't bend, and Brady is a Buc. I think we can debate Bill's handling on this, and God knows it's been debated here ad nauseum.

To you point, do I think Brady wanted it all? No. Do I think Brady wanted to be treated differently than the other 52 players. Yup. do I think Bill could have found some middle ground to keep Tom happy at the end of the road? I don't think Bill is able do that. It's not in his militaristic nature.
I tend to agree. Bill is old, old, old school. One of the last of a dying breed. It's curious that Pete Carroll who is actually older than Bill doesn't seem to have those traits. Neither does Bruce Arians. Does Andy Reid? Not sure. Fact is these older coaches are being replaced by way younger ones. Times change.

Every post and every thread of yours is intentioned to throw shade at BB.

You already have the same thread in the TB12 sub-board....but you just had to create another one.

You are in the same class as DropKick with his Josh bashing.
RW, this poster is nothing but a troll, you know it, I know it. and everybody else knows it....no need to create 10 threads on the same subject, especially when he offers nothing else on the forum...

OK but the thread was already there. Only reasons people create a 2nd thread is

a) honest mistake
b) raise the visibility to amplify a topic
c) look at me!

Knowing Biffins b and c are likely.
Why would a thread about an article about what the HC of the Patriots said be in the Tom Brady forum?

I get that there's a large number of posters that don't want to even broach this topic but they need to get over their "sensitivities" and allow open discussions. It's an online forum for Christ's sakes.

I don’t want to get into a long drawn out discussion about this, your opinion of the mods, etc. I’m simply asking you to limit this discussion to this thread. I’ve opened it back up and let’s just simply move forward.
And no, people can criticize the coach. I’m just trying to open up room for other topics as opposed to multiple threads arguing the same points. It’s September. If we’re still having these discussions in December, that’s a different story.
@Biffins offer nothing to this forum and just trolls. He is a one trick pony and starts numerous threads, all about one subject and we all know what that is.

I think he just wanted it on the main board.

The thread in the Tom Brady forum should just be merged into this thread
Don't strongly disagree but too many sub treads in the TB12 thread. Tampa thread. Tom thread. Anti BB thread. AG thread. TB Sr thread... All deserving of individual discussion. If it was just one thread i'm ok w it being on the main board but it's expanded in scope lol.

He is. He and that clown Crawhammer were thick as thieves.

I don't put posters on ignore. Thats a form of cancel culture IMO.

I want to see everything and if posters say something I like/don't like they will know. That's the purpose of a board- to absorb all opinions and PoVs whether you like them or not.

My main point is he already created the same freaking thread. He's wining because it was moved. His voice was heard and the mods have allowed for the discussion he wanted to have. No need for 2 threads.

Additionally, I don't have a problem (even though I don't like it) with Biffins's bashing/criticism of Bill once in a while but ************ hes non-stop. Same with DropKick and his over the top bashing of Josh every 10 minutes.
While I agree with your point about not ignoring people in general, I have zero issue with people who disagree with me and in fact welcome a healthy discussion backed with evidence to broaden my POV, I have to say there comes a point where they begin to take away my enjoyment of reading this board. I have 3 people on ignore as of last night and they all have the same issue. Relentless non stop spamming of one topic no matter what is actually being discussed. DKFlutie finally crossed the line for me as of last night and joined actual pats fan. Yeah the board just got 50% smaller but my enjoyment of it got 75% higher. Sometimes the math does work out and its ok to block certain types.

Belichick the goat is technically right in that the Pats did offer a contract, they did want Tom. And were surprised and left flat footed when Tom left. And because of Brady's dead cap, Gronk's dead cap, other players, plus covid opt-outs, had absolutely zero choice but to take a massive dead-cap year in 2020.

Brady the goat did what was best for him, went to a team ripe for taking the leap loaded with weapons, and left behind a fraud offense with a bad OC and poor talent. Tom had decided before the 2019 season even started, he told Kraft in Kraft's house and also put his own home up for sale before 2019 ever started.

All the stuff with jimmyG is moot, the Pats absolutely made the right call staying with Tom and trading jimmy, this is not even really debatable.

Thats not my issue. I was fine w it in the main board. My point was it was already there. In hindsight it maybe should have stayed.

The reason for the move is the poster is a known troll. If he wasn't a troll or someone like me or you posted it i'd still be there. He has bad board cred.

The discussion was allowed. If it was deleted and the poster Mosslost-ed then that would have been wrong.

lol RW, forgot about Crawhammer, haven't heard from him in a while...might just be the same guy trolling.

Crawhammer and NewEraWithMac need to go head to head. Please make it happen. I’ll pay for the needed extra bandwidth for the site.

Civil discussion and disagreement is what makes this board and country great.

I've been hanging around in the TB12 forum and there was plenty of solid debate there.

I hear you on the ignore feature. I see a post or poster I despise I just blow past them....unless they respond to me.

Ooooooh. That would be a sweet matchup.

Bill saying he did not want him to leave is true...IF the cost and length of contract was to BB's liking. Ultimately Kraft did Brady a big favor by letting him go to UFA and gave him the opportunity to win more Super Bowls with a far superior team around him.

I do not think Brady would win another SB if he had stayed with the Patriots. Brady should be thanking Kraft.

I’m neither team Bill nor team Brady. I’m team Patriots. If Robert had fired Bill and kept Brady, I’d be cheering Brady now and ignoring the Bill as HC of NYG thread now.

But this nonstop vitriol one way and the other is like a $&@!ing divorce. Mom said this. Dad wanted that. No one wins these and you just end up hating both sides, which is not what I want. I’m excited about Mac and Judon and Bourne and Myers and J.C. Jackson. Can’t we just enjoy the Patriots on Patsfans?

The funny thing is Brady nor Bill have said anything against each other. lol. Maybe the kids need to just shut up.

In complete transparency I would still support the Pats 110% but if that went down and Bob fired Bill or Bill resigned, I would have a major, major issue with Bob and Tom.

The reason wouldn't be because I'm a BB fanboy but because it's a short-sighted, disastrous precedent to set. Additionally as GM and HC, coming off a 12-4 year and a SB in 2018 would be just wrong.

Close to the same way Bob was messing with Tuna's groceries and dinner back in the 90s. I sided with Tuna but was pissed at him at the same time.

History would have repeated itself.

Well, divorce is a schism. No matter what, someone gets hurt and treated badly. I think that’s how the team Brady people feel.
