It wasn't going to last forever. A lot of fans and announcers talk about Mahomes like he isn't actually human. He can screw up and have bad games and bad streaks. He isn't some unstoppable force. He is 'just' a truly great QB who makes more highlight plays than any other great QB. But it doesn't lead to better results. Him being on a stacked team his entire career has led to those results, as well as a few more fortunate breaks than he was rightly due. A lot of dropped ints at key spots. A lot of 50/50 balls that KC came down with. They are a great team. Mahomes is a great player. But they also got a little more luck than they were due, at least in the regular season. This year it is catching up with them a little bit and water is starting to seek it's level. They'll still be a top team, but those bounces are now going against them.
