Many of us fans are still getting over Sundays game. Well, lets look ahead to this Sundays game against the Jets.

-Will Trent Brown be healthy enough to play, if not, who starts at RT (Herron or Cajuste)
-Will JJ be active
-Will Rham be put in the doghouse
-Will we see more down the field passes by Mac

Let's discuss and get ready for week 2
Stay tuned to find out :D A thought, how minor can Browns calf be he never returned to the game sunday.

It may take a while, but we’ll need to see Mac eventually start taking more shots downfield or at least more intermediate routes. When James White has the most receptions, that’s a problem which plagued the 2019 team. The longer it takes for the offense to move the ball, someone will mess up an assignment, drop or fumble the ball. We need to see more chunk plays.

I might be in the minority here, but I suspect Harris will get his snaps dialed back a bit in this one. Historically, RBs that fumble (especially in that situation) find themselves in the dog house afterward. Hope to be wrong, though.

Who runs the ball then?

I hope he doesn’t get put on that timeout either which I always found ridiculous. Plenty of other players over the years make mistakes and yet they still find their way trotting back out on the field.

Well, that means 2 guys are getting less. Taylor was inactive. Bill can't be dealing away known commodities and benching the young replacements. That's not a good plan. If he rolls out a depth chart of White, Bolden and Taylor, they'll be in trouble. I

Evan Lazar had an excellent analysis posted today arguing that McDaniels was the reason why the offense only scored 16 points. He was too conservative in his playcalling, especially on 2nd down. I suspect McD will take the training wheels off Mac on Sunday.

What’s more concerning is the amount of hits he was taking with that conservative playcalling.

My guess is they would activate Taylor. Definitely a step down, though.

What does the Pats scheme take away from the Jets? Usually they focus on the #1 strength, but what would that be?
The Jets' only real chance is to chuck the ball down the field. The first TD drive included a 20 yard pass and then the 22 yard TD, while the second TD drive included passes of 25 and 40 yards. They can't pass protect (most sacks allowed, among the worst in pressures allowed) and they can't run the ball (worst YPC), so it sounds like a lot of two-deep four-man rushes to me.

Almost 30% of the Jets' total defensive snaps on Sunday came from their two practice squad elevations and four 5th-6th round rookies. There are some good players here, but also a ton of inexperience.
There is very little talent in that defense.

In case anyone needs this info..

I agree. I think they'll use the same four guys, but Harris will get less snaps while White and Bolden get more (White out of the shotgun and Bolden the backup to Harris - Rham as the emergency back if there are injuries).

I can also see a lot more shotgun, White alongside and if they run from that alignment it will be delays, draws and screens. I don't LIKE that, but I can definitely see it happening as historically that's been something McDaniels has done.

Guess we'll see.

Harris has only had 2 fumbles in this whole career.

The other fumble occurred in his 16 carry game vs the Chargers last season. The subsequent game had Harris with 5 less carries in the Rams loss, Then he was out for the next 2 games vs Dolphins and Bills losses and back on IR for the final game vs the Jets that was a win.

Need to have better starts for sure. But, if they can't beat the Jets, this team is far worse than I suspected.

I am one that doesn't get the Wilson hype. If you look at his college tape, all the highlights are vs low quality opponents which is a major red flag for me. So, for this strange pandemic world we live in, it seems even the analysis on him as a superior prospect over Jones, I'll never know. He reminds me of a combo between Cutler and Flacco. Really nice arm, but not quite accurate as of yet, especially throwing when he scurries out of the pocket immediately. To me, he plays small and scared. He's a long way from rolling out and waiting for one of his WRs to break open downfield at BYU vs Coastal Carolina. I think the Jets did it again, which is hilarious.

I watched him last week and he was just awful against a weak Carolina team that is rebuilding. Don't let the 2 TDs fool you. He was horrible.

IMO, you defend him like BB always defended the mobile QBs, like Ben or a Mahomes, and that is, make sure he can't get right. Do whatever you need to do, which is to me, a 3-4 look and Van Noy/Guy setting that edge wide, engaged, not necessarily always looking to rush, and then run some delayed stunts up the middle when he drops back.

Take away the preferred and easy slants that all young QBs want to it including Tua last week where I couldn't figure out why BB wasn't doing that. One of the few headscratchers from last weekend.

Put JC on Davis and watch out for Kroft. He's good. They should be able to handle the other WRs and backs. The Jets just aren't very good on paper or anywhere.

Also, their O Line is hot garbage. I don't get the praise for Joe Douglas either. They overspent on one dimensional, oft-injured talent and some of those guys are also predictably hurt already. And, they put all this capital into their OL and they still suck. It's the Jets. And, their coach is a first time head coach who the media has been acting like is some future legendary coach and we have no idea if he will succeed or not.

1. Start faster on both sides of the ball.
2. Clean up the penalties.
3. Clean up the ball security.

Wow, the Jets - Carolina game was awful football.
It was like the Jets didn't realize that McAfree is a star player. He spent the whole day being trailed by a LB assigned to him.

Corey Davis (overrated) and Kroft at TE. Kroft is good, though. I would have been happy if they signed him as a TE.

If McDaniels comes in with the same conservative game plan then I don't know what.

I get going conservative in your rookie QBs 1st game against a team that blitzes almost 50% of the time and has a secondary with Howard & Jones and a few other guys (McCourty, Rowe & Coleman) that have history playing against your system in practice and a head coach and DC that has seen your offense up close for years. But the jest secondary Brandin Echols, Bryce Hall, Justin Hardee, Javelin Guidry. This would be the let your rookie QB push it down the field.

It would be quite odd to just flat out bench a guy who just ran for 100 yards because of one fumble. Yes the timing was terrible, but you're now taking his production away from the offense that helped move the ball throughout the day in the first place. The other rookie fumbled as well. I think benching Harris would be a bad thing to do and will only wreck his confidence. Plenty of elite ball carriers fumble and they don't get benched over it. Fumbling happens for a RB and shouldn't be such a shock given the amount of hits they take. I remember Steven Ridley was so paranoid fumbling the ball, he started running with two hands which limited his running ability.
