He didn't want to play in boston. I don't fault the redsox for getting something for him, knowing he would leave in free agency.Dead Sux could've matched/exceeded Any offer the LAD gave him.
I think I can still make a case for this year, but I ain't making it today. Not after that horror show yesterday. What a freaking ****$how. Errors galore. Blowing a huge lead. Maybe next year.

They got Verdugo, who has a higher batting average (.288) than Mookie (.265) this year. He also hasn't been injured this year like Mookie. Verdugo played in 123 games, Mookie played 99. He has the same amount of errors as Mookie with 2. I wouldn't call that getting "nothing". He may not be as good as Mookie in the long run but he's looked like a pretty solid player so far.Problem is, they got absolutely Nothing for him.

The key is 23 year old 2nd baseman Jeter Downs who unfortunately is hitting .179 at Worcester and striking out more than 1 in every 3 at bats. Connor Wong the 3rd player acquired, seems like a decent career back-up catcher. They got Verdugo, who has a higher batting average (.288) than Mookie (.265) this year. Even though Bogaerts went hitless in last night's badly needed extra inning win, he made a couple of great defensive plays. Congrats to Josh Taylor who picked up his first MLB save as he stranded a runner at third with no outs.At least they're getting Bogaerts back in the line up. That should help some.

Guy built a hell of a team in Tampa on minimal budget, currently kicking the Sox and Yankees behinds. Last year was his first season and the Sox are leading the wild card. Let’s give him a chance.#FireChaim
No he didn't. He had a role. But didn't have the final say on roster decisions.Guy built a hell of a team in Tampa on minimal budget
He had a significant role building a team with a third of the payroll of the Red Sox and Yankees, and they're kicking their asses. No he didn't. He had a role. But didn't have the final say on roster decisions.
He wasn't the GM and didn't have the final say on the roster. He didn't build anything down there. He was a sidecar. The rays are kicking the SOX ass because the people that did build the rays are still there. He had a significant role building a team with a third of the payroll of the Red Sox and Yankees, and they're kicking their asses.
He wasn't GM, and neither was Theo Epstein when he joined the Sox. By all accounts Chaim had a significant say in operations and was tremendously respected. The disparaging "sidecar" isn't accurate. Not quite sure what your issue is with him tbhHe wasn't the GM and didn't have the final say on the roster. He didn't build anything down there. He was a sidecar. I think you're giving him too much credit for Tampa's success. He didn't have the same power that Theo had with the sox his early years. Calling him a sidecar is hardly disparaging. I generally like your negative takes on everything, it's a nice tonic to counter the homerism that you'll always find on a team's board. But I think you're kinda stumbling here. You're talking about a guy who started last year, and is just beginning to implement his plans. Now! They may suck! Who's to say. But the depleted farm system has already jumped from 20 to 9, and the current team is tied for the wild card lead on September 13th. Saying he's sucked ass doesn't really come from anywhere. You mean besides sucking ass as our GM here?
