Official 2021 Cutdown Day Thread

Growing pains incoming. Let's be patient with Jones through the ups and downs. But wow! I'm excited! Can't wait for the season!
Show me that smile again.
Don’t waste another minute on your cryin’.
We‘re nowhere near the end.
The best is ready to begin!

RTS is also reporting he's been cut. They may have told him his role as a starter (for how long) and offered to cut him to find another team. He may be back.

Cue today's coming Garappolo talk, LOL.

Gilmore to PUP list per Schefter
The early season passing D may (or may not) get carved up. That seems to happen with the Patriots most years anyway, but they usually pull it together by the end.

I think with our front 7 and Safties group that we should be able to get by with JC as CB1 and either Mills or Williams as CB2. This move will be a real test for JC and I think he's more than ready for it. CB2 will definitely need a good amount of safety help but that's not unusual anyway.

That week 4 matchup looms. Tom's gonna hang 50 on 'em in the first half. He's going to be a man possessed. Meanwhile, Bill will play it as an early season non-conference game, just trying to get everyone firing on all cylinders in time for the stretch run.

Our linebackers may make love difficult for Tom

a group of Jackson, Jones, McCourty, Phillips, Mills and Dugger isn't underwhelming
Dugger really doesn't add much to the secondary until he learns to cover. He's a good passing down linebacker.

The names are good, but I don't have faith in Jackson covering the best wideouts in the league and I have even less faith that Mills can cover outside receivers. Teams are going to test Jackson and Mills on the outside and that's unlikely to go well for the Pats.

You're assuming that Dak will be healthy.
Even if he’s not and there’s a below average qb, I don’t think it’s easy to guard lamb, cooper, and gallup.
hope buccaneers and cowboys OTs are ready for Judon & Uche
And kvn, Hightower, wino, and barmore… this is the saving grace. Need this group.
