Deal with this: I #respect Cam as a person and as a leader

I really like Cam as a person and think he’s a tremendous leader on and off the field. He dresses cool too, not that it matters (unless he thinks it does.)

I feel like there isn’t enough appreciation on this forum for Cam as a non-football player. After all, football is just a silly game, and in the big picture, there are serious things like the ebola virus and inequality.

What I’d like to see from Mr. Kraft is a statement of solidarity from the Patriots by declaring Cam the starter for the entire 2021 season.

Again, there are things more important than football, and Cam exemplifies this. Unlike many of you, I was willing to brave everyone’s criticism and call out Aaron Hernandez because some things are more important than winning. What I’m saying might be unpopular and controversial, but you can’t silence me: what Hernandez did was wrong.

Agreed.
I want him in the Patriots Hall of Fame now.
Forego the mandatory waiting period in the name of equity...... enshrine the man now.
Let the every-man walk into the Hall of Fame at Patriots Place, for a nominal fee, and enjoy video highlights of each of Cam's 8 passing TDs last year. Allow us to enjoy Cam's pre-practice dance histrionics with an interactive display. And who doesn't want the thrill of seeing Cam immortalized with a bronze bust adorned with his favorite Jackie O accessories.

I don't really care about how jovial or kind hearted he is.

I just want him to complete a 5 yard screen pass to a receiver in stride now and again.
Same here.

With that said, Cam is a great teammate.

Last call to order rounds I see

Speaking of which, they should have a drink named after Cam.

The Cam-el Toe? Something creamy.

The Cam Beam and Coke? Jim Beam

The Cam-a-Lot shot? Tequila

Along Cam a Spider? Cider

When Cam is inducted into the Patriot's Hall of Fame he'll receive an honorary fuchsia jacket.

Cheers.

take some advice from a friend, Tony....don't quit your day job...

I'm trying to figure out whether Cam is more like Robert Baratheon or Ned Stark, and who in the Patriots organization is littlefinger or Cersei.

I remember those posts when Hernandez got arrested. "I think murder should be legal if the murderer is a Patriots tight end", sometimes worse. I just wanted to fit in so I didn't push back, but thank God someone took a stand.

Agree Cam is a nice guy, and appreciate that he's poking a hole in some of the empty "tough guy" traditions of sports with his sense of style and playfulness.

None of that has anything to do with how much playing time he should get, and I can't imagine anything worse than the owner getting involved or saying something. Plus, that worked out so well the last time.

My recollection of the board regarding the Murderer is that most of us went through a grief cycle at roughly the same pace - shock, disbelief, anger, sadness, acceptance - but that some people were out of pace with that and stood out in that regard. I don't recall anyone ending up defending his actions as reasonable.

I don't personally revere Cam's brand of leadership, but I recognize that he has been an excellent teammate - based on the testimony of BB and other leaders like Slater, etc... However, the fact that he's a good guy, works hard and has walked the Patriot way does not mean he's worthy of being handed the starting job all year. Football is not a place for entitlement or status quo. I'm okay with Cam starting the year. I just want BB to be honest in assessment and not overly evaluate the veteran status above chemistry and capacity. If Cam goes stale, and Mac is equal in production - make the change.
