I feel like Mac is showing he should be starting as a rookie.
Can Bill go against everything he believes in and start the hot hand?
What “everything he believes in” would he be going against?
Starting Jones week 1 would be textbook belichick.

Agholor’s drops are a longstanding issue throughout his career and has been called out several times in New England. Not unexpected, but if he blows by defenses and drops points in a close game, I still might throw stuff.

You aren't paranoid when everyone is out to get you. That's Cam Newton by this time. The media is acting like Brady never threw a receiver into a big hit. And while he was good at NOT doing that (as the years went on) he DID do it. The media is acting like Newton committed a crime. But that is because the media has an agenda (I believe) and that is to hype the kid and denigrate the vet.
PFK - Love you man. While Brady did occasionally lead a receiver into a hit, it was extremely rare. The pass today that led LaCosse into a hit was the 4th one in less than a year for Cam that has led to injury. There were more than a few last year that we lucked out that Meyers wasn't injured.

The difference between Brady and Cam is night and day. If Brady made 2 dozen of those throws in his entire time with the Pats, I'd be amazed. And it' not the media recognizing it. It's the FANS. And we're the ones seeing it pretty regularly from Cam. It's because of his lack of field awareness.

There's something to the "defenses not knowing how to defend us" claim though....but what I saw was a decisive QB who saw that there were no options other than taking off and running or throwing the ball to reliable Edelman. That Newton can win games in the NFL. He's the same guy that is 2-0 against the Brady Patriots. The COVID brain fog was a real thing, IMO. That coupled with losing targets in Edelman, later Burkhead, White having an off year, and etc.... just snowballed.....

But that's just my opinion. I disagree that it was a myth. And I also am not denying that Cam still has not looked better yet in camp as well....
White didn't have an "off year". Cam was the reason White's year wasn't where we expected it to be..

That only explains the reduction in targets/receptions, but White was also so-so in pass protection (10 pressures and 4 sacks).

In light of the fact that there's only 3 PS games, and the number of practices with pads have been cut down, these joint practices are worth their weight in gold.

Could be part of the reason ...

“The only guys that really stay in the pocket and understand the offensive lineman’s situation that I’ve seen are guys like (Tom) Brady. He kind of sits in the pocket and understands that the safest place for him is up front … because the offensive lineman doesn’t have eyes in his ass and he doesn’t know where the quarterback is unless he’s where he’s supposed to be. You’re blocking an area and if he doesn’t stay in that area, it makes it awfully hard. A lot of these quarterbacks are dancing around and moving around.”

Could you give the link where you got those stats? I seem to remember Cam being in the wrong place many times and that didn't help the pass pro.. Be it RB or otherwise.

Words we all expected to read this morning:

N'Keal Harry won all five 1-on-1 reps I saw vs. Eagles DBs, including a nifty deep-ball grab against Avonte Maddox.
He's the anti-Garappolo - practice time, no stakes - he kills it. Game time...where'd who gooooo??????

Cam was great one quarter against Seattle, the worst pass defense in the NFL at the time, and was bad against the raiders
Edited the above sentence for you, hope you don't mind

Mike Reiss is the nicest guy on the planet.

For New England, Mike is a dual threat....
