PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP Day 6 Training Camp Thread- Tuesday August 3rd

I like how some people seemed to be overjoyed that Mac wasn’t 100% in his completion percentage throughout camp. People seem to want to see him fail.

Meanwhile, it took 6 practices before he threw his first INT. I believe Cam is up to 3 INTs so far. Anyway, I’m rooting for both QBs to do great, it’ll help the Pats tremendously, and it’ll help Cam earn a good sized contract elsewhere if he does really well next year.

What people want to see him fail? This website is full of conspiracy posters.

A lot of people seemed to speak really highly of Joe (including Bill himself), and Belichick came from a ST origin as well... but I think the Giants forgot that BB actually went on to coach something else before taking a HC gig too. I chalk it up to finding a good head coach (much like finding a franchise QB) is hard.
Bill speaks highly of most everyone it seems.

To me, finding a good QB is more important than finding a good HC, but avoiding a bad HC is also very important.

its the "Suck for Luck Curse". Ever since they purposely tanked the season to draft Andrew Luck, they have had poor luck with injuries (no pun intended).
The Indiots' bad karma is also aided by their active participation in defame-gate. Screw 'em. Ditto for the Ratbirds.

Yes. I'd like to hear from reporters in a week or 2 that have also seen Jimmy G and give their opinion of Jones' progress compared to him. It's impossible for a rookie to not make mistakes...but he is learning fast and that's all you can ask.
Curran said Mac is way ahead of Jimmy when he was a rookie.

This site is full of Pats fans and only the dipsticks would want either QB to play poorly.

The problem for me is that I don't have much confidence in Cam and that forces me to want Jones to turn into the real deal even more. I think we're screwed, now and in the future, if Jones doesn't pan out.

I also think Cam's more of a smooth talker than a good QB.

Yes I want Mac even more too. A good QB can be a smooth talker as well - I think the two are unrelated. Let's judge Cam on his field performance which has been lousy to date. But maybe it will improve - I believe he is sincere and trying hard, just not sure he has the physical tools after all of his surgeries.

Jones will pan out. He's the real deal.

Barmore is the most intriguing player to me (besides Mac-10). CB’s first step is quick. Hope he puts/keeps it together. Consistent interior pressure is key.

I really, really, hope so. I watched him carefully through college at Alabama and I always thought he was a perfect match for New England (fanatical at preparation, super focused on not making mistakes or turnovers, very smart, at his best in the highest stake games). I can't tell you how excited I was when NE drafted him. Really I can't think of a more exciting NE draft moment, at least for me.

But, I've been wrong before with my Alabama binkies. I still have emotional scars from the failure of one of my past Alabama binkies (although I am reluctant to admit that past binky-hood, in light of later events), more the way he failed than the failure itself.

If Mac fails also I may need therapy

Lol, he's light years ahead of other rookies in this system. He is going to crush when he comes in. I mean we could see it the way he was already moving protection in his rookie mini camp

Brain dead take. Do I even have to take the time to rifle through old TC reports of Harry making plays from 2019? Or are you aware that your foreskin shrivels up whenever he’s mentioned in a negative light?
Come on man. **** on him all you want. I know the steroids make your manhood shrink but they don’t effect your brain that much. He got hurt in the first preseason game and missed all the rest of training camp and over 1/2 the first season. His first two years have been bad enough you don’t have to make **** up
