N’Keal Harry Updates.

He was quoting the agent talking about Harry being a dominant downfield threat, and saying that Harry was a diva. I said it's the agent talking/spinning. Sales BS.
Nah the bolded. Did I misread?

Just F'n with you

I have a buddy who hates "literally". Kinda the same thing, now that I have clicked the video.

He has generally looked for veteran WRs. But, when he's gone fishing for WR talent, Branch has been his only high round (1-3) hit.

Johnson
Jackson
Tate
Price
Dobson
Harry

1 for 7 sucks.

As I noted, part of that is a function of always drafting late in the round(s).

You noted it, but it's not really accurate.

  1. Harry was the 2nd WR taken in the entire draft
  2. Dobson was taken over Keenan Allen
  3. Tate was taken over Mike Wallace
  4. Jackson was taken over Greg Jennings
  5. Bethel was taken over Anquan Boldin

The only player where the idea of the Patriots drafting late in the rounds might really apply with regards to high round WRs is Taylor Price, who was drafted last in a 4 WR selection run that was led off by Decker. Every other miss was just that: a miss.

While Harry appears to be a clear miss, you can play that game with any position in any draft, "Well, they passed on this guy and that guy who turned out to be much better than who they picked." The point is very basic: the later you pick, the smaller the pool of available top talent to choose from.

In each case, the better choice was chosen within a couple of picks. In many/most cases, that latter choice was generally considered the better choice (You may remember how many people here wanted Keenan Allen, for example). And saying that there are fewer choices is mostly irrelevant. After all, after the first pick in the draft, everyone has fewer choices. In terms of hits and misses, slotting in the draft really only matters in the first round. Starting with pick 32, everyone has had the opportunity to pick from every available player

That meme I posted in the other thread about the dead skeleton on the bench waiting for Harry to breakout aged poorly.

Should have said me waiting for nkeal to play another snap.

And don't forget the other Tate, the Charlie Weis-trained Golden Tate, whom Bill ignored in favor of the predictable bust Germy Cunnyham.

I would even include damaged-goods Mal Mitchell, when the healthier, higher-ranked & still-useful Rashad Higgins was available.

Did I read the part of that article right where it says he could be a WR2 on the Chiefs?
That Evan Mead is a boob.

Watch Harry go there and kick ass.

That was ridiculous. And Cunningham over Dunlap was laughable.

How about Wynn over Ridley? Pats trade their #1 WR and did nothing with the pick to replace him. Ridley falls right into their laps, but pass on him.

My point was that choosing WRs at the low end of high rounds, in the very years the WRs were chosen, didn't mean that there wasn't talent to choose. It was bad WR choosing, not a lack of available talent or the choosing of another position, that was the problem.
