Having lost our #1 after the so called "spygate", figured 49ers pick would be mid first Rd.

Now, Karma is paying back all those haters. As it will turn out the 49'ers pick will easily be top 10, possible top 5. So, Pioli/BB should be able to flip that in 2#1's or more

.........and oh by the way Mangina is 1-8.......

I know, that pick will be great. The Pats will obviously trade it away if it really is top 5. I would think they might drop back to the 10-15 range where there are still premier players. A move like that is going to carry a heavy price tag for the other team.

That's a great thought! Before spygate, we were probably all expecting to get a pick in the range of 15-20 from SF and 30-32 for our own pick. Now we might end up just as well off.

For example, if SF's pick turns out to be #6, that's 1,600 draft value points* which is equivalent to pick #16 (1,000 points) + pick #31 (600 value points). So theoretically we could stay at #6 or trade down for #16 and #31.

Karma's a *****, but sometimes the ***** bites you and sometimes she bites your enemy.

Which teams have 2 #1's in '08 (except for what was us ofcourse ! )

Crazy at this point Darren McFadden would be available.

I hope it turns out exactly like this so that come draft day we can rub the so-called Commissioner, the media, and the other 31 teams's players, coaches, and fans noses in their own Sh*t for a second time!*

* The first time being of course when the Pats pick up their 4th Lombardi. How's *that* for arrogance you trolling MF'rs?

It's extremely hard to trade down from the top 10. The type of contract that gets paid from that spot makes it much harder to trade down.

Please clarify your rationalization for this. If a certain team wants a certain player bad enough, they'll make the trade, regardless of contract types.

I have thought about this a lot too.

We should get an excellent pick. Anything can happen but the 49rs are much worse than I believed. I do believe it is karma. People WILL whine that even with the commish going medieval on us we still come through smelling like roses.

It truly is a great time to be a Pats fan.

The season is only half over, but I am very optimistic.

I remember when we started the season 6-2 and had a bye. We came back and went 2-6. So anything is possible. I know this coach and this team won't let up (no matter how many people whine and moan).

But, it would be so sweet if Vangina could win a few giving us the pick before them. You could just count the number of red faces ready to blow.

Let's see.
Must root for Jets wins.

  • Dallas wants McFadden
  • Dallas has 2 picks (currently 22 and 31)
  • Picks 1 (STL S.Jackson), 2 (MIA R.Brown) and 3 (NYJ, T.Jones) all have bigger needs than RB

According to the draft value charts, #22 is worth 780 and #31 worth 600 points. That's 1380 points or about the 8th pick (1400 points). They are in a different conference and supposedly J. Jones and Kraft get along. This could happen and be mutually beneficial.

If things stay as they are now, Dallas would just have to throw in another pick to get the deal done. I think the Pats would do it in a heartbeat. Lots of value in this draft if the expected juniors declare...as opposed to the 2007 draft where the Pats treated their draft cards like they were laced with anthrax.

I said "in theory". But the value is still there - e.g. we could trade for #16 and a proven player who would be the equivalent value of the #31 pick.

I remember that too - I believe it was 1999, our quarterback was Drew Bledsoe, and the first team we played after the bye was the Jets whose DC was someone named Belichick. After he showed the rest of the league how to defuse Drew with pressure up the middle winning got a lot tougher.

But Bledsoe is not our QB anymore, and our coach is a little bit better at countermoves than the Grandmaster of the Trojans.

Do you think San Fran would be willing to trade us Patrick Willis to get their first round pick back? We could throw Merriweather in the deal and Chad Jackson if necessary.

Anybody notice that the Rams get their RB Jackson back this week?

Who knows, this karma thing could even get sweeter. The rams play some very beatable teams the second half.
