I agree. It is more a problem with the rules and how some refs give QBs too much slack with grounding than anything negative about Brady.

It must be a frustrating experience for DEs to beat protection, have the QB essentially on a silver platter and see them just throw the ball in the ground because an elgible receiver was somewhat in the area.

The grounding at the start of SB 46 was ridiculous and you never see that called.

What Brady does really well is putting the ball directly at the feet of an eligible receiver. It is CLEARLY an intentional incomplete pass, but it is legal. The famous "throwing it in the stand" move too. Like a few feet above the head of a covered receiver down the sideline to avoid a sack.

I call it being savy.

It is savvy - I think Judon is praising him here, because Brady's job is not to get whacked and sacked.

On a side note I have never understood the logic of why spiking the ball in order to stop the clock is not intentional grounding.

I get that, but, honestly, I like the rule as it is. Or what I understand of it anyway.

It does not leave a LOT of place to interpretation. "Any uncatchable pass" leaves a LOT of space to interpretation and that's dangerous.

In 2019 Brady seemed to be doing it more than in other years. Receivers injured and back ups and newbies not running routs right or getting separation. I felt Brady was very frustrated and probably gave up on plays quicker. Remember him saying he was the unhappiest 8-0 player ever? That's when I think he saw the writing on the wall about staying or going.

How dumb do you have to be to sign with a team and within weeks take a shot at one of their ex players who was idolized by your current team's fan base and who is arguably the greatest athlete in any sport ever?
Just goes to show you can take the player out of Baltimore, but you can't the Baltimore out of a player. Just a classless organization of whiny, excuse making crybababy losers. Legitimately one of the most unlikeable franchises in the NFL. Hope he works out better than the last high priced Raven Bill signed.

Then grounding would be called 30 times a game.

I do not think he meant Brady is grounding. He said Brady is throwing the ball away and this is because Brady unlike a lot of QB's hates negative plays. An incomplete is better than a sack. Brady has a quick release and that quick release also connects to receivers too, so maybe he should have just said quick release.

Thank you, I am glad finally someone saw this. I have never seen a ball thrown too long be called grounding. Literally the first time and the only time I ever saw that called.
