Re-Assessment: After a Good Draft/FA, These Players are maybe on the Proverbial Hot Seat

How many patriots had off season surgery and will start the year on the pup with mcglone?

with the 2020 rules in place, should bb try and stash some guys on the pup?

Good idea. Maybe one of the TEs or FBs or LBs ends up conveniently hurt in the off-season.

Davis had a concussion. Perfect guy to start the year on the pup.

anybody else that had any ailment or need offseason treatment should start the year on the pup,

Shared by Deus. Phil Perry made some interesting guesses on the roster.

He's got Asiasi out but keeping Keene. Not sure about that why Keene would be kept over Asiasi. He has Sony Michel out. I'm not sure, I think they keep him at this salary but don't extend him. He's got JoeJuan out. He kept Bentley which I don't think makes sense given McMillan basically has his role now.

I agree about keeping 3 QBs for now;

At the RB/FB/TE/WR positions, I currently have Michel & Assyassy in, and Kid Dy-no-mite & one of Bolden/Jake Johnson out...And I wish that people would stop including Slater with the WRs and start including him with the Specialists;

On the OL, I don't agree that Herron is a lock, at all...He should be considered in a 3-way competition with Cachoo & Cunnyham for the #8 spot...
I wouldn't mind seeing Elmanure or a reasonable facsimile thereof re-signed as the backup RG/RT, because neither Shermie, Herron or Cunnyham are stout enough for regular Right-side snaps; and who knows what kind of shape Cachoo will be in when TC begins...

At the DL/ED/LB positions, I agree with everybody on Perry's list except for JaWrong Bentley, naturally...dude feckin Sucks...But I do NOT want Roy Reynolds to replace him on the 53 either;

At the DB positions, I still think it's possible that one of Cody Davis/Justin Bethel might lose out to SloJuan or even that feckin Garbage pick Safety.

This exercise was less about a final roster than it was about establishing a depth chart...Injuries will happen, unfortunately, so most of the names we have added/removed will probably make either the 53 or a reserve list.

True this was more about the final 53 man roster, not training camp. Agree about Herron. He was a turnstile on the OLine. The more I think about it I think Gunner is already more talented and ahead of Harry on the depth chart. Might be best to trade Harry now for a low pick before he becomes a worthless cut in 10 months.

A depth chart includes a depth chart for 7 or so Special Teams positions. Thinking that one of the best STer's (Bethel) in the league is in danger seems to undervalue special teamers. He is certainly one of our best special teamers.

Could Davis be replaced in ST position? Sure. But this would only be by a better top special teamer.

They got some talented guys anticipating Slater retiring soon, but Slater is still here, so this special teams unit is totally stacked this season.

Yep; no need therefore to add more otherwise useless trash like Brandon the King of STs Penalties, Roy Reynolds, Rashod Berry, and of course JaWrong Bentley (whether he actually plays any STs or not)...

Maybe Bentley will play better with the new jersey number. I'm not counting on it. He may not make it into Sept.

Stidham's seat is now red hot with Hoyer returning. 4 QBs tough to see them keep 4.

Could be Cam, but I think the locker room will influence that. They don't have a lot of faith in Stid. Especially the vociferous secondary.

They need at least four arms for camp anyway; that's why I was surprised that Dolegala was let go...At least that's what I ass-ume the plan for Hoyer is...I hope...I would've just kept Dolegala and be done with it.

Am I the only one excited for the jets games? They're going to ruin that poor kid.
