Belichick "Cam Newton is our quarterback"

Gasper Debbie downer. What else is new

Now the Patriots should go get a Wr, CB, RB etc. More so a WR to help out Mac Jones. Are any of the Wr’s left on the board elite ?
The two Moore kids, and Marshall, would seem like good potential fits, though I don't know that any of them will still be on the board if the Patriots play the waiting game.

He sucked because he sucks. He can't throw the ball and he makes terrible decisions. He was the worst starting quarterback in the league and it wasn't close.
Lock, Haskins, Wentz, and Darnold looked worse, but I don't know... I'm just a caveman.

I think it's fair to say that Fields and Jones will be compared until one provably separates from the other.

Lance too, if one is to believe it really was between him and Jones for #3.

If Mac Jones beats cam newton out, honestly that's a good sign that he's legit. Or it could be that cam newton is cooked.

Only thing is how many rookies have gotten to the playoffs? Let alone won a game.

SF will be on the hook for that one, though. I don't think it'll be more than a blip anywhere else, because "Took a chance on huge upside" will outweigh the downside beyond the fan base.

Unless Fields is an absolutely elite guy. And if that happens, the line of teams getting crushed will be a long one.

Roethlisberger is the first that jumps to mind. I think he was undefeated as a starter until the Pats beat him in the AFCCG (aw, shucks). The vast majority don't make the playoffs, even if they have a good rookie year. But, of course, the good ones who start from week 1 as a rookie tend to be the ones going to teams that are more than a QB away from being playoff contenders.

I have to say looking at Robert this guy's brain is SHARP. Best owner in the NFL for 25 years. He shows a lot of knowledge in his half comments, the franchise is so blessed to have his sharp mind overseeing everything. Robert is still SHARP in mind...

Let it go Mike Felger. Cam is the starter, Jimmy G is not coming here. The Weei/98.5 guys should move on

I have seen people say that a lot and I don’t blame them. The cam hate is unbecoming

last night Felger was complaining that they overdrafted Mac Jones. Now imagine had they taken a defensive player and gone into today with Cam/Stidham what their narrative wouldve been.

Do yourselves a favor and stop listening to WEEI. All they do is manufacture artificial rage. Once one narrative goes cold, they'll fire up several others and try to figure out which one triggers people the most. It's a huge waste of time and energy.

Comments:

a.) I will have to see the schedule on May 12th before commenting on when *I think* Mac Jones will start a game. IMO, it likely will follow a BYE week.

b.) Cam likely is the week 1 starter, but if his arm/shoulder looks bad or he turns over the ball a lot....Mac will be starting sooner, IMO.

c.) Do we trade Stidham now? I would trade Stiddy and a 6th to move up in round 5 or something....then again if Cam breaks down...we would need a back up...but I hate having 3 QB's on the roster....prefer the depth elsewhere.

d.) It doesn't bother me that Jones will be compared to Fields...to me the equation is: Fields+2022 first rounder+fourth rounder+2021 fifth rounder > Mac Jones...and clearly the Patriots brass felt that Fields wasn't 1+4+5 better than Jones.
