The "Who Are you Hoping For on Day Two" Thread?

After an anemic year on Offense gotta go with a WR, then go after whoever is available at either S, CB, OT....

The nice thing is that whoever the Pats pick does not have to be a game 1 starter, they will have time to acclimate to the NFL and the Pats system(s)..

Christian Barmore - DT Alabama

I’d love for them to trade up early and take Christian Barmore, think he’ll be a good DT.

Of all of the highly talked about players, there seems to be the biggest gap between the hype and the analysts evals on this guy. He's perhaps the best DT in the draft, but still has a lot of evals that put him in the late 2nd/early 3rd round, and project him to be a 1 down player in the NFL.

You do understand that we have ZERO starting corners for 2022?

And yes, BPA may mean a CB instead of a much weaker OT. And yes, I agree that OT is very important.

As far a melt down, I'm not sure that should be a concern. Many on this board would love to see a WR and LB instead of OT and CB. Pleasing them should not be the goal.

AS AN ASIDE
Belichick may try to move up or down tonight. 96 is a bit late.
Who are the starting linebackers in 2022? Edge rushers don't count.

I badly want them to take a top echelon WR like Moore, Moore, Atwell and Marshall.

But this draft is also very deep in tackles like Jenkins, Eichenberg and Radunz.

Of the CBs, I'm only interested in Joseph, Molden and Samuel this early.

So--hopefully a top WR, then an OT just for value, and a CB for need.

I've heard it mentioned a few times now that he doesn't take coaching well, freelances a lot and takes plays off. I don't know how much of that is true, I didn't really look at him at all pre draft because I expected him to be a top 20 pick.

We will need to use our 4th rounders to move up in this draft. There is still good value left.
I'd take Daviyon Nixon, Rondale Moore or Terrace Marshall with second rounder (use a 4 to move up if need be) and Spencer Brown, Melifonwu or St. Brown with our third (use a 4 and a 6 to move up).
Get Derrick Barnes and Kenny Gainwell tomorrow and call it a draft.

Terrance Marshall is more of a physical receiver, We have that now with both of our TEs, we don't want to make an Aaron Dobson or Josh Boyce pick here

Barnes is so fun to watch.

In order of preference by position...

OT: Radunz, Jenkins, Eichenberg
WR: Elijah Moore, Marshall, Rondale Moore
CB: Samuel (lol), Melifonwu, Campbell, Joseph
RB: UNC teammates Javonte Williams, Michael Carter.
DT: Barmore (probably going to Jax), McNeil.

I’d love Bobby Brown at DT, but not in the 2nd round.

Not having that 3.77 pick because of the idiotic and needless Kraft Entertainment Productions filming fiasco is just... smh.

It would be nice if the Patriots could get fair value and move up with those three fourths (and below) that they own right now.

Pick --- Draft Value
2.46 --- 127.71
3.96 ---- 39.38
4.120 --- 23.10
4.122 --- 22.09
4.139 --- 15.13
5.177 ---- 6.49
6.188 ---- 5.08
6.197 ---- 4.16
7.242 ---- 1.53

I don't see a need to draft ten players, but at the same time we have enough needs that we don't want this to be a three-player draft either.

If you take the 3rd and package it with the 5th and 6.188 then you should be able to move up to about 3.85.

Or trade the three fourths to a team with multiple depth issues and you're right back at 3.77 again.
Trading the first two 4ths and 6th should bring you to 3.86.
3.96 and 4.120 should move you up to 3.75.
3.96, 6.197 and 7.242 gets you to 3.90.

I want BB to draft Asante Jr, just to piss of Asante Sr.

Terrance Marshall would be a steal at 46
Christian Barmore (doubt he will be around)
Jeremial Owusu-Koramoah (another doubtful to be still on the board at 46)

I feel BB will make some sort of trade to close the gap between 46-96.

Baron Browning at LB, one of the Moore’s at WR, or one of the top tackles left would be great.
Besides from BPA i think most succesfull would be to provide MJ with either an OT or WR. Since we were interested in AVT at 15 I guess OT/G is a high priority next to DB for our next picks. Still some solid players available at these positions. I have a good feeling for today

Jags need to go with Offensive line imo. Gotta protect their biggest asset and open holes for their two good rb
