Patriots working on a contract with Jimmy G?

Look...Jimmy is a better QB than Cam. Zero doubt.
But...Jimmy appears to be soft/fragile.
That isn’t an attractive trait.
If he comes for a low pick I like it. A 2 or 3?
I would hate it
BB has a hard on for Jimmy so he will most likely give up a 2nd rd pick for him which would be ridiculous

Not saying Jeff Howe is wrong but I bet the patriots are exploring several fronts right now to upgrade the QB position including Jimmy G. What if the price to move up becomes too high, then they may stay put or trade down and get Jimmy G and a lower ranked prospect.

It will be interesting to see what happens.
I don't see why both reports can't be correct?

Dale announces Pat's are talking contract restructure with Jimmy. Jimmy/agent hear NE's best offer. Which they quickly reject.

An hour later Howe comes out and reports nothing is doing right now.

And just like that both reports are correct within the time window in which they were reported.

I find it hard to believe that they are going to pay him 26 million dollars to be a back up or even a "bridge" QB. Especially when they can just cut him and save $24 million.

Or the 3rd pick can sit a year when the teams tying to contend

That is the thing the Jimmy crowd is missing. If Garoppolo was that good and they were confident he could be their franchise QB for years to come, they wouldn't be mortgaging their future on Mac Jones. Since Garoppolo got them to a Super Bowl, it is clear that is his ability to stay on the field is the issue in San Fran.

Jimmy didn’t get them anywhere, they dragged him to the super bowl where he proceeded to do everything to lose the game including missing a wide open Sanders with zero pressure on him

No kidding. Who doesn't go through the motions on Zoom calls?
Like some of us i've been doing WebEx, Teams, Zoom, etc for years but at least we had biz travel/in-office F2F meetings to break up the monotony. I'm so accustomed to doing 8-10 Zoom calls a day it's nothing now.

He missed two games with the Pats with a sprained shoulder on his non-throwing shoulder. An injury that there is no doubt Brady would have played with. He has missed games in three of the four years he has started in this league. His injury history isn’t overstated.

It was his right, throwing shoulder.. he left the game on Sept. 18, 2016 and did not play the next game on Thursday or the Sunday after that.

His injury was described as a sprained AC Joint...

In his career he has had a sprained AC Joint, Torn ACL and High Ankle Sprain.. all injuries that occur for a lot of NFL players..

We really don’t need that negativity, Mike..

They might not have qualms but I will. Don't really care to see a 4 win season.

Very few players have ALL THREE of those injuries in four years. Watch out, you are making a strong case that Garoppolo is injury prone.

How would you suggest that JG avoid these common injuries???

I am not a JG apologist and hope he does not come back to the Pats (unless he agrees to a very team friendly contract and it does not cost us all that much), but there has been so many overstatements this past week about him there needs to be a healthy interjection of honesty.

He could have avoided the ACL injury. You know that, right?

He protects himself better like a lot of the top QBs do. His ACL tear was totally unnecessary. He got it fighting to get one or two yards when he needed something six or seven on a third and long. A better QB would go just went out of bounds rather than cutting back in to get an irrelevant yard or two and then get hit.

And with his AC joint he needed to know how land when getting hit. Brady has turned it into a science and that is why he is playing at a high level at 43.

But then again, he just may be injury prone. Some players are. Did you give Dominic Easley or Ras I Dowling this much leeway?

But I am not overstating his injuries. His injuries are a concern. I have questions about his toughness to play through injuries. The 49ers gave up three first round picks because they don't trust him to stay healthy and are ready to move on from him.

Again, what teams moves on from a 29 year old QB that they have locked up for several years and then trades three first rounders to trade up to get the third best QB on the board unless they feel the QB they have sucks or is injury prone?

I think you may be understating Garoppolo's injuries.

Again, I am not against trading for Garoppolo for the right price. I just don't think he can be your long term solution. He is an one or two stop gap while you develop someone else.

Frekin Dale Arnold played us
SF can't even decide which pant leg to put on first. Or if they even want to wear pants. Wouldn't call this one yet.

I think San Fran has known what they are doing from the beginning. They are dotting the i's and crossing the t's but the media is just making crap up now for clicks.

So there went that BS rumor. That is why I barely ever read twitter anymore.
