Belichick rated #1 of all GM's in Expensive FA Signings

I have something against selective amnesia/delusion.

if any thread crtisizing BB gets locked/deleted and any thread praising him is allowed to remain then no wonder we are living in the collective delusional bubble that we are about BB and his lack of any meaningful career accomplishments as HC in the NFL without Brady.
in the immortal words of bb....players win games coaches lose them.

Mods should love this thread. No need to ban or lock this one. Full of ******** adulation about His Royal Highness Emperor Belichick.
Why are you even here? Clearly you hate this franchise. Just go root for the Bucs and be done with it.

This thread is based on a report from a professional who did some analysis. That professional was surprised at the result. That's the difference between evidence-based, systemic research, and predetermined opinion tossing. You don't know the outcome until you arrive at it.

A thread being kept open has nothing to do with whether the thread is positive or negative wrt the coach. It has to do with the methods used. It isn't about "fairness" or tribal loyalties. If a thread that is exploring a negative take on the coach used the same methods, it would remain open.

Not to connect too many dominos but Brady basically said F this after Brown was cut. So thanks for 2019 Bob.
There might have been a lot of things that lead to Brady wanting to venture elsewhere. We might not ever know everything that went on behind closed doors, but I do think (and this is really what you want to believe) that if Brady felt Belichick was pushing him out the door and wanting to move on, that would be a pretty big reason. Again reports, and such and such, who knows what the truth is.

Yep, if social media didn't exist, Pats would've weathered the storm and kept Brown. However, funny how the media dropped talking about Brown right after he got released by the Pats. Tyrek Hill admitted to beating his son and that was talked about briefly while KC just ignored it. Media eventually gave up and moved on to something else.
Yes, it's scary how much the media controls the masses. They can spin any narrative.

The guy was a life long Steeler, made his name there and was a Patriot for like, what, 2 weeks or less......and yet all allegation news stories following his release showed him pictured in a Pats uniform. Then, just like that, he vanished off the face of the Earth from the news cycle? No longer a Patriot = no longer a story.

It’s the famous BB worshippers cult, started by matt chatham. BB can do no wrong. He walks on water. The BB worshippers even have their own group text where they crap on posters who don’t agree with their opinions

Nice straw men, skippy.

Change your handle to "No Pats Fan." It would be far more accurate.

Wait! Do you have something against BB? Please tell. I'm dying to hear it.
Buff is just stating what every true Patriot fan should admit, Belichick has been an abject failure in every respect. He hasn’t accomplished anything near what the coaches and GM’s of the other 21st century Dynasty’s have accomplished. He is simply not in a league with Pete Carroll, John Harbaugh, Andy Reid, and Mike Tomlinson. The only reason Kraft keeps him around is because he’s so cheap and Belichick will work for peanuts. Buff is is just one of those realist fans here, not some fanboy who pimps the 6 rings and 75% winning percentage. Buff knows from his legendary fantasy football career that he would have done a much better job as coach and GM of the Patriots than a schmuck like Belichick, who probably has no fantasy football accomplishments to his name, Belichick doesn’t even have a Dynasty League trophy named after him, whereas Buff is the namesake of the legendary Fantasy League trophy THE BUFFER!

Is that the cool kids club? I suspect they do more than crap on posters. There seems to be a coordinated effort to "report" posts in volume to make them dissappear. A sanitizing, so to speak, of forum opinions to keep the sensibilities of the saltiest posters intact.

It's been amusing to see that, when the Patriots owner points out how they used to make fun of the exuberant FAcy spending and poor draft record of the last 5 years, the Team Bill sycophants bend over backwards to explain away what Kraft was "really saying."

Patsfans is becoming like other teams football forums, "a world of delusion," we used to make fun of. I'm sure this post will be reported and dissappear like so many others, even though it doesn't break any of the forum rules.

The fault for AB not working out falls on all of us. It's the fault of a media that is constantly seeking out and glorifying a scandal, and of the peple who consume this media. It's the fault of a league that normalized disciplining a player without due process, and the fans who are too quick to assume guilt when the player is part of a rival, and who are too quick to assume innosence when the player is part of the home team. It's the fault of a political culture that insulates powerful wealthy men from consequences, just as its the fault of an opposing political culture whose thirst for justice has grown into bloodthirst for vengence.
And here I thought AB's issues were all of his own doing.

Damn you ESPN for reporting a star player has quit on his team.......again.
How dare the NFL Network mention Brown refuses to play because he does not like his helmet.
Threaten a woman and her child on the internet, none of your business Roger.
Chuck patio furniture off a high rise balcony or damage a security guard booth............back off TMZ.
Have the cops called in because the mover wants to get paid and doesn't like being threatened.......that's racist.

Since we are all guilty, shouldn't we set up a Go Fund Me page to compensate AB for our sins?
On behalf of our society that assisted in financing your $75 mill in career wages, you deserved better.
We need to be better.
Heartfelt apologies.
Equity!

he's gone from this thread...wish I could ban permanently..... there are certain posters imo who have been on here trolling for too long...going to create a list and send and review with Ian because I feel over the past few months, the posters who are not even Patriot fans are becoming more prevalent on here.....I think that needs to stop and those individuals need to be banned permanently.

Also strongly in the camp that signing AB was a great move. Rub Job Bob panicked fearing media criticism of his FL adventure and destroyed the season and insured Brady's giving up on the Pats franchise.
Krafty Bob was a fool for signing the dude in the first place, given he knew what kind of off the field stuff AB was capable of and knowing he had no stomach for any bad press. He should have looked at what happened with OAK/LV and just said no. He cost himself $millions of dollars and his team a huge cap hit that was part of why last season sucked so bad.

Whatever role it had in TB12 moving on, who knows. The Tompa fans say it was all over in Summer 2018 anyway when Mrs. Brady *****ed out BB for not kissing Tompa's butt enough, Johnny F'ing Foxboro, new scenery, yada yada.

AB himself was/is a fool. He gets drubbed out of OAK/LV then NE just because he can't put his phone down. Sure he ends up on Tampa on cheap money and gets occasional looks from TB12 and gets a ring, but he cost himself $millions by not letting his lawyers deal with the messes he made. Now he's on the outside looking in, waiting for Tampa or anyone else to offer him a contract when he could/should be on a long multi year deal raking it in.

Everyone has some blame. Tompa was happy to be coached hard by the GOAT coach and leave some money on the table for other players to be signed for 20 years, till he wasn't. BB has always been a "one year too soon rather than one year too late" guy, but he probably should have made exceptions for the GOAT QB. Krafty Bob has always been a hypocrite, paying minions to try to project an immaculate public image while quietly getting discounted rub jobs from aging Asian ladies.

The biggest problem with most patsfans.com posters is there is very little tolerance for seeking or finding the middle ground. Same can be said for the "fellowship of the miserable" media silos most fans are plugged into. I truly think Ian is trying to run a good site, but it gets dragged down time and time again by knuckle draggers who can't think beyond their urges for ongoing tribal warfare. We end up fighting the same old battles time and time again because that's what gets them through their days.

Here's my take:

tb- goat
bb- goat coach
bb- gm- definitely up for debate.
The real issue is you don't get the overall record we achieved without the GOAT QB, GOAT coach and debatable GM all working together.

The coach is able to call the plays he calls because he picked the players to fit his system, including the GOAT QB.

Even if his role of GM is debatable, IMO his record with his overall system gives him the benefit of the doubt.

Feel free to name the contemporary Coaches and GM’s who have accomplished more than Belichick? I’m really looking forward to it.

I definitely think it's up for debate (I mean, very few things aren't), but part of what allows him to be a great coach is he fills his team with coachable players. In other words, players he thinks he can coach within his schemes. Sometimes that doesn't work out (understatement) in cases like Jordan Richards. That's a guy that mentally was perfect for what Belichick wants to have, but he underestimated how limited Richards was physically. That was a big miss.

His overall record as a GM has some holes. But the common line is that BB the coach makes up for how bad BB the GM is, and I think that's too black and white. BB the coach is able to make up for having less overt physical talent because he fills his team (whether by draft, FA, or trade), with players he thinks he can coach up. You really can't separate the two into mutually exclusive characters.
