Words on things I watched, read & heard

One of the more remarkable careers of the last decade. I think Matt Birk and Don Sweeney came from Harvard but nonflashy positions, Fitz managed to play the most high profile position longer than most 1st round QBs. Kudos to a great career.

You haven't been paying attention (no surprise there). Fitzpatrick's agent has already said that this report was FALSE and that Fitzy plans on playing in 2021.

Another Harvard boy has just landed a big contract, given his age and position:

It's a shame because I would have liked to have seen the Pats sign him. A top-rank FB comes at the same price as a mid-range TE, so it seems to me that a team that actually uses a fullback could get much better value by signing someone who can not only block and help in pass protection, but can also catch and carry the ball.

But I thought pass rush was overrated?
Only dirty coverage rats would have you believe that.

Pass rush is king (even though it's a marriage)

Those Seattle teams could get after the passer though. Bennett, Avril, Clemons and a few nasty DL'm that would reset the pocket were the unsung heroes of that team.

Jonnu's return: When tight end Jonnu Smith arrives at Gillette Stadium after officially signing with the Patriots, the inside of the team's offices won't be foreign territory to him. Smith had taken a pre-draft visit to Foxborough in 2017, when he was a prospect coming out of Florida International University. The visit likely provided added comfort for coach Bill Belichick in making such an aggressive push for Smith. The 2017 draft was mostly regrettable for Belichick, who traded back multiple times in the third round before landing defensive end Derek Rivers (83rd) and offensive tackle Tony Garcia (85th). Meanwhile, Smith went late in the third round, 100th overall to the Tennessee Titans -- a reminder of the draft's unpredictability.

7. Draft nugget: North Dakota State quarterback Trey Lance, who Patriots national scout Matt Groh watched closely at his pro day last week, will be 20 years old when he is drafted. That positions him to become the first player drafted into the NFL who was born in 2000.

He's not wrong about the Agholor signing, possibly the Worst of the Entire offseason...The Jalen Mills deal sucks too...

It’s obvious that Belichick isn’t giving you enough to complain about, because you are now just posting the same (incorrect) whines in multiple threads.

I'll wait until I see how it plays out on the field before passing judgement.
The funniest thing is "who the hell are we to be passing judgement on Bill Belichick". That's not even something I can comprehend.

How do the deals suck? Or can't you be bothered to enumerate and back up your garbage with facts?

Always liked Houston and Kerrigan, don't know what they have left, same with Griffen.
I loved Kerrigan coming out, loved him. I'm looking at this list. Seeing Kerrigan, Ingram, Clowney and thinking we're one of these guys away from a nasty front 7. Like you said, providing they have something left and actually think they fit. I keep coming back to Clowney. Inside/outside disruptor, + run defender. Just on a year deal, nothing huge.

We're very close on both sides. Not quite there but very close to having serious potential.

From that List Clowney would be my N.1 target if we are looking for another DE starting caliber. Or Dunlap. I think BB views Clowney as a good option there as well due to his good run defense. Production and therefore his demand of a salary are question marks to me
