Certainly poised to trade picks. The counter argument is that the chances of hitting increase with numbers, but the roster spots need to be created.
I'd rather take some shots at playmakers early. Potential difference maker. Prefferable QB but wouldn't mind OT/CB/DE/WR

Sweet. Now return our 3rd too, Rog, you ginger c*nt.
I get it, but really, Kraft deserves this just for sheer stupidity. After all the crap the franchise has been through, to think that videotaping the field for any reason without Goodell’s written approval would be allowed is just moronic, and even with Goodell’s written approval it would be moronic given his history.

Preparing for life after Minshew. Give me Minshew Mania over Cam or Mariota or Jimmy G. Yes, his arm strength is limited but can still get it done through the air, has some athleticism and clearly has the “it” factor. He’s a leader and is the type of quarterback for whom the team plays hard. Plus, he’s inexpensive...really, really inexpensive.

You’d still want them to be aggressive and draft a quarterback this year but with this new surrounding cast, he could get it done in 2021. Someone explain to me how Baker Mayfield’s professional career has been significantly more impressive than Minshew’s thus far.

We need a QB to win games not a cool guy with a mustache.
I’m curious where you get that he has the “it” factor? Or players play hard because of him? He is 7-13 in his career and I haven’t seen a lot of guys play hard in that tenure.

I think there's an argument to be made for Watson being the best QB in the game.
If the Jets can trade three 1st rounders (including the 2nd overall pick) for Watson, they have to do it.

Not too much interest in Wilson. He's great n all, but older and the Jets aren't ready to win immediately.

Pipe dreams aside...

1. Trade back. Get another 1st rounder for 2022 (for 3 total).
2. Draft Pitts. Davis, Mims, Crowder, Cole, Pitts is a nice set of weapons for Sam.
3. Then use our later 1st round pick and 2nd rounder on a Center n Guard.

Finally give Sam a good set of weapons and hopefully at least a competent oline for the first time in his career.

Then if Sam sucks, there's plenty of ammo in 2022 to go grab a new QB. But if Sam looks good, those three 2022 first rounders would come in real handy building a team that'll compete for a while.

Of course I'd also root for Wilson if they do decide to draft the kid.
Who is arguing that Watson is the best an in the NFL? Watson’s family?
My god what a ridiculous comment.

10 roster spots where a draft choice could/should make it. Challenge accepted.

1) QB any round
2) OL from Any round. As of now OL7 is Herron
3) OL see 2
4) WR 1st 4 round roughly. Later round picks have a tough time sticking because gunner has the receiver who doesn’t play spot held down
5) RB and round
6) DT early pick of course but a later pick will have a hard time
7) CB there is always room for a corner
8) ILB replace Bentley
9) Qb late round pick to beat out stidham as the 3
10) EDGE a true 3rd down pass rusher should be able to stick

It’s a stretch to find 10 spots with a really good chance to make the squad, so trade ups or trades into next year seem likely.

In 12 games, as a rookie, on a bad team, he went 285 for 470 (60.6%), 3,271 yards, 21 td, 6 int, 67 rushes for 344 yards.

In my opinion, last year was lost before it began for the Jags. His touchdown:INT (16:5) ratio decreased over the initial 7 games but his numbers were still respectable, including an improvement in his completion percentage. He was also running for his life behind an inept Jacksonville OL, before injuring his hand. By the time he was healthy enough to return, they were already 1-11 and were in full tank mode, which is why they continued to play that sh*tbag Glennon, instead of re-inserting him as the starter, despite Glennon’s predictably awful play. I don’t follow the Jaguars closely enough to know how his teammates respond to him, and neither do you, but I have two friends from medical school who are Jacksonville natives and they give him very positive reviews in that regard.

Minshew is far from perfect, has fumbled too frequently and has some limitations in terms of arm strength but for the 2021 season he is their best option, in my opinion, when you combine his low cost of acquisition, minuscule salary and production over his first two years, playing behind a far less talented roster than he would be surrounded by in Foxboro. That assumes that they don’t trade up into the top 7, draft a quarterback, who then becomes their starter. That is obviously the best case scenario.

Do you need me to list all of the great quarterbacks who played for losing teams, especially early on in their careers? Steve Young went 4-28 over his first two seasons with Tampa. Would you have dismissed him simply because of that record? That can’t be your best argument. Or is the fact that he has a mustache and a personality your best argument? Arrogance alone really is not persuasive, although you seem to think it is.

Yeah let’s compare him to Steve Young. Jesus.
You stated that “players play hard because of him”. While that is a clear attempt at hyperbole without anything to support it, it leads to a discussion of how that team played around him. Your response/excuse was the season was lost before it started so where is that “playing hard for him”.
Now let’s move on to “it”. Please illustrate what tells you minshew has “it”. What has he find that makes you think he is an elite winner?
I mocked you post because it deserved mocking when you tout a weak armed QB who out up a couple of decent games and got atttention because of being a cool dude with a mustache rather than a good football player as one of the few that have “it” and a guy who makes players play harder just because you had no quantifiable argument so you jump to unquantifiable bizarre hyperbole.
Otherwise, no he’s not an option.
