Does Marcus Mariota literally have skeletons in his closet?
On Mariota......., time will tell.
Thought, would any trade Harry for Mariota straight up?
The Raiders lost two WR and only got back one in John Brown

In fairness, every team in the league wants “a franchise QB” and I think the term is tossed around a lot. Do you consider Watson a “franchise QB” ? I don’t. I consider him VG and you can definitely win with him. But he’s no Montana-Brady-Mahomes.

How many franchise QBs other than Mahomes are there even out there ? Brady, Rodgers, Ben (all with limited shelf lives)...

There’ll be lotsa Lawrence chatter. We’ll see. For me : franchise =/= potential.
Franchise QB has come to mean you won’t be replacing him this year and probably not next either.

Again, we don’t want anything to do with Mariota’s current contract, which pays him too much in bonuses/incentives if he ends up as the starter. That all changes if he gets released.

Just the terms..

Just the terms..

New GM taking page from 2001 playbook. Get house in order, cut bait on people you don’t want going forward, pick up many cheap options hoping a plucky few will work hard and help.

Ha, wait 'til Jets vs Pats weeks. You'll hate me then.

Gotta talk smack those weeks.
If you think what you do is talking smack, then you're as bad at it as your team is at football.

You've got no need yield a point to me (though I appreciate the thought ). I wasn't really trying to make one. I was just tossing out that team's wins so we have something to use as a baseline. I think we're in for a very odd (and hopefully interesting) year. We've still got quarantine/lockdown issues. We've got bizarre player movement and non-movement. We've got an extra game for every team, with half the league getting screwed by it being a road game. And we got the "Browns gonna Brown" history.

I mean, just looking at FA right now, we're seeing certain AFC teams making very significant roster overhauls (i.e. Patriots, Titans), certain others keeping their powder dry but likely to pounce on options at some point (i.e. Colts), and others that are doing significant cap shedding and/or overhauling (i.e. Texans). So following the Browns for a fallback can be another interesting log on the fire.
I think the Browns might have to Brown a lot to not win that division. The Ravens look like they've lost some pretty important pieces adn the Steelers are withering on the vine, and the Bengals...well.

That division doesn't look special to me this year at all.

How long is Bill going to continue to beg Lynch. Enough already, move on.

“The Patriots are just like, ‘Alright, fine,’ ” Bedard continued on his podcast. “The words that I was told was, ‘The 49ers are screwing around. They’re not really engaging.’ The Patriots said ‘Fine.’ ”

“Yes, they love Jimmy but they’re not going to sit around and wait for Jimmy. … So they made other plans. The most likely plan at this point is Cam Newton with a draft pick.”

Hey, sorry if you've already answered this, but:

What are you hoping your team does with that #2 pick?

  1. Trade it for Watson/Russell
  2. Draft QB and move Darnold
  3. Draft to help team around Darnold

The part you just quoted (if accurate) seems to indicate they have already moved on. Also, "beg" isn't the word I would use.

It’s Bedard, so this is probably 80% exaggeration.

I've come in peace. As usual.

I'll try to remember during game weeks though.
I sanction it. I have your back. You are more of a NEP fan than he is for crissakes.

Except that per story, they keep on inquiring, at least that's what I got from it. If it's Bedard recycling the same old story then I missed it.

The thing that drives me insane with Bedard is he talks like he is in the room during these discussions. He claims he has all these sources in Foxboro but according to who I know he is not nearly as connected as he comes off as.
