SOME THOUGHTS
1) WR's aren't getting the money, and few are willing to sign now.
2) QB's are now moving. Perhaps, we'll see a big trade tomorrow to MIA or the NYJ.
3) Someone needs to start the ball rolling on RB's.
4) We'll see if anyone scoops up Andrews or Van Noy, or whether we'll be able to do so.
I’m not sure we have a spot for Van Noy

We could definitely make the money work, but it would take a truckload which I would do. Multiple 1st round picks the next 3 years along with multiple 2nd rders is my guess. You would need more considering the Pats would be instant SB contenders so therefore the picks would be later in the draft.
If the price isn’t absolutely crazy I’d do it. With even a good qb this team is ready to win now. In order to get one of the better qbs in this draft we’re gonna have to give up picks to move up. In Watson’s case we would be giving up picks to get a qb who’s already developed. No bust factor.

The thing is, it’s not like the receiver market is going to change much from the beginning of FA which is refreshing. Patriots could very well still afford one of the top receivers, but I’m not even sure it’s really worth it. Samuel I would take but for not more than $10mil/year.

Would the entire draft be enough for Watson? without touching future drafts?

Nope. And given that our picks with Watson on this team likely would be in the high 20s or low 30s there is not much reason to believe it will happen.

The Miami/Jets package is pretty much unbeatable for the Texans to immediately get a jump on their next guy.

We'd need to trade much more than that. Gilmore, #15, 2022 #1, several more early picks.
OK Cousin, Just spitballin' here.
Is there an actual means to the end with BB picking up younger talent in FA and most deals are 3 years?
Could that mean than the Pats are "prepping" for a lack of Draft picks to fill the roster void in the near future?
It's gonna cost big time to get say.........a Watson. I think the Texans need to move him asap. We have the money but would have to infuse the Texans with picks and talent to get Nick to say........"well maybe".
So would three #1 picks plus our second rounder and add Chung (just filling in his narrative) and Gilmore cause the Texans to say uncle?
This give the Texans arrows in their quiver to go for one of the kids in the Draft. Plus ammon for the next few years.

We are building a team that is one franchise QB away from dominating.
Interesting

Yeah, that is exactly what I am afraid of as well.

Patriots could try, but no way they can beat what the Jets or the Dolphins could offer... unless these teams are not interested which would be... stupid on their part. Dolphins especially. They have a lot of draft capital and they can even include Tua.

Let's say we were going for Watson... what is the price? And who is the competition? Jets and Dolphins? And they both have GREAT picks to trade.

Seems very unlikely we can even get DeShaun :(
It was never in the cards for us, IMO. Too rich for our blood. They'll want what we don't have, a QB in return and lots of high picks.

That’s some cold **** when you look at it like that.
The system we have now, where agents get to crow about money their clients almost never get, is a hot mess.

Sooooooooooooooo he is recycling himself as an 'influencer'.
Or he's under the influence! :p
