Seems he played CB for the first 4 years then was moved to safety , but moved to cover CB when there was injuries. This sounds like a good move for the Pats to provide depth at both positions

I dunno. Maybe. If Chung is a post June 1 cut they save $1.8m. They also have Phillips who can also do some things.

If they can find a spot on the roster for him, I think they'll prefer to keep him around just for the leadership. That being said, he wasn't even playing particularly well before opting out and is firmly within the category of "old" in football years. I certainly would not expect him to be a starter.

I always thought all of the big opt-outs would be gone except for Hightower who I still think will have to restructure or be released.

Don't think it's going to be Gilmore. We're ramping up right now. Last thing we need is a big hole at CB. I would not be surprised at JMac and Williams leaving. JJones and Bryant are going to pick up the slcak and so will Mills. Also wouldn't be surprised if Brooks left.

I would think they are hearing many offers, so they are playing it out. I thought they would be wasting resources going $$$ WR in this free agency but Belichick isn’t waiting for the QB he’s going to aggressively build the best team he can and then try to win with whatever QB they have, until he has a franchise who QB steps up.
