Can we finally stop pretending that Cam is good?

It was brain fog that caused him to throw balls into the dirt or a pick 6 on a screen.

I have no other explanations, do you?

It still remains that he tested positive the first week in October. At that point in time, we were one goal-line stop from being 3-0.

I don't think there's much evidence that the Covid excuse for Cam is anything more than that.

If there was really something to the idea that Covid destroyed Cam's season, I really think the coaches would have seen it and he would have been IR'ed.

At that time, we knew almost nothing about Covid. We know much more now.

Let's say the dropoff was 100 percent caused by him contracting covid. Unless he bounces back then it remains true that he isn't good and we should not pretend he is.

Which is why I'm saying I don't think it hurts to let him try again. If he is still the same, cut him. No harm, no foul.

I think it was smoke and mirrors for the first few weeks. Week one no one knew what to expect from Cam and we won primary on his legs. Then Cam had really his only good game as far as throwing the ball against the Seahawks. He made some bad throws and he made some good ones but by the end of the game Seattle knew we didn't want to throw the ball down on the goal line. He was pretty bad against the Raiders as well so I think a lot of being made of the fact that we were 2-1 before he got covid. As time went on the other teams realized Cam cant throw anymore and the cat was out of the bag.

We were losing by twelve in the 4th quarter against SEA and if it wasn’t for stupid decision made by SEA this game would not have been really close. He played 1 1/2 good quarter against SEA and yes he was already starting to be bad against LV before he got COVID.

whuh huh whuh? We "knew almost nothing" about Covid in October..?!?

To be fair we still know very little about Covid. Research takes years to accumulate.

Compared to what we know now, and what we will ultimately know about Covid-19, the answer is yes.

Example: Fauci discussed a recent study that found that 3 feet social distancing works in school just as fine as 6 feet distancing. So yeah, we're continuously finding new things about Covid, even now.

You make good points. We can't discount that Cam was outed.

Guess we'll see what happens now that we finally will have a preseason.

The fact that Fauci is a tool who has admitted being deliberately misleading to the American people does not bode well for the point you are trying to make....

Cam is a dumpster fire and this team has no chance of doing anything with him throwing his pathetic too short or too long passes

i'd say getting COVID midseason, missing time, recovering, all sorts of lost practice time all were contributing factors

so was not enough time with his receivers, not being on the same page with reads/etc - that all feeds back into the issues with the late sign, no camp, little practice time

this is an offense predicated on everyone making the right reads and being on the same page.....that takes time and repetition, two things everyone lacked last season......if you watch Cam last year, you can see times where it def looks like the wheels are turning and smoke is coming out he's working so hard to see it and think - and his footwork tends to go out the window (he had similar issues at times with pressure)......then there were other times where everything clicked, he got over the top of the ball, his footwork was excellent, and he drilled some perfect throws (yes, this happened)

i think many here hope that with more time and a proper off season/pre season, the good reads footwork lead to good progressions and good throws......and that isn't unreasonable based on all the issues coming into play last year and their hopeful resolve this year......

I agree with you and I'm glad Cam is getting another shot. But although I agree Brady and what he just did throws a tiny wrench in that defense.

Always fun to see for a fact how disconnected a certain segment of the fanbase from what goes on among the players is.

Shocking that players who grew up watching and idolizing Cam are still respecting all he has already accomplished and might still have to offer.

The only one tripping is Cam over his own feet when he gets the ball and fades back 5 yards.

Well, cam has legit receivers and a tight end now. Guess we will see how cam can be with an off-season and legit receivers

Sure hope we DON’T ! All running. Cam running. Harris running. Lotsa running behind the OL and new TE.

Worst staring QB in the NFL and it is a complete waste to sign TE and WR when Newton cannot even throw them the ball

It's like having a brand new car then removing the engine and replacing it with an engine that has 175k miles.
