Yeah. It is the draft for them not FA.Chiefs fans are looking at big names in free agency lol. They have no clue how the cap works.
They were about $3M under the cap as of a month ago. NFL Salary Cap Space | Over The CapChiefs were in a bad cap situation. I'm surprised the Texans are back in green on the cap I thought Caserio was in a tough spot. Was it all getting rid of Watt that got them back under the cap ??
Fisher was a late season popped Achilles. Even with rehab and a desire to keep playing, he's probably not returning until sometime during the season.Somewhat expected...both guys have some pretty serious injuries along with advanced age. Cutting their losses is probably the right thing to do. They'll have to eat some dead money, but at least they'll have enough to spend on some healthier, though less accomplished tackles, to replace them.
I’d have to assume they’re trying to land BAL OT Orlando Brown.
Why would Baltimore make that trade?I’d have to assume they’re trying to land BAL OT Orlando Brown.
Because Brown requested a trade. He doesn’t want to play RT..Why would Baltimore make that trade?
Yes, I know that. The question is specific to the Chiefs.Because Brown requested a trade. He doesn’t want to play RT..
The Ravens say they’ll do what’s best for the team and they have granted Brown and his agents permission to talk to teams about a deal. Brown told Mike Garafolo of NFL Media that there are “ongoing conversations” with six teams about a deal and that a new contract — Brown is heading into the final year of his rookie deal — would be part of the package.
Under the Injury Protection Benefit, he will get a physical before or on August 1, and if he doesn't pass it then he's due $2 million with $1.2 million of that counting against the cap. It's one of the few ways a player can be paid more than their cap hit.Fisher tore his achilles less than two months ago. How are they able to cut him while injured? Did he get an injury settlement?
Thanks, that's helpful. I always thought players would continue to collect their salary due if they were injured, but there's a maximum of $2 million. Chiefs likely looking at another $1.2 million hit from the injury protection unless if Fisher recovers within ~6 months of the injury.Under the Injury Protection Benefit, he will get a physical before or on August 1, and if he doesn't pass it then he's due $2 million with $1.2 million of that counting against the cap. Thats what makes BB and the pats competitive year after year, not over paying players, and at the same time being able to replace the players that leave with players they've coached up.Yep. Their time to hit it was these past 3 seasons and they have only on ring because the GOAT beat them the other 2 years. With the depressed cap, this has only accelerated the process. They are the very definition of a top heavy team with a bulk of their cap tied up in just 5 players - Mahomes, Kelce, Hill, Clark and Mathieu. They will struggle to have any depth which is what ultimately cost them vs Tampa. Their back up linemen were trash and now they just releasrs.
