WFT eliminates "cheerleading" squad

I say that it's very possible that there isn't a single person here who has stood up and cheered along with a cheerleader at a sporting event.

And that's why they're called Cheer leaders.

Wow. I have been waiting to see something from you since I came back to this forum and this is what you come up with? Disappointing, that’s all I can say, really disappointing. If this is the best you can do it may be time for the gas factory
That's an odd aphorism, "the gas factory."

I've heard of "the glue factory," referring to when you "retire" an over-the-hill horse to be turned into glue.

What's "the gas factory" mean?

They want to do it? I don't think that's what's happening.

Let's frame it like this: They're lured into doing it, they buy into the glamour and the buzz, and then they are trapped by the time they realize the ****ty working conditions, because they've signed a contract that wasn't clear and straightforward.

Maybe it's just me but I don't know any girls who likes getting sexually harassed while being underpaid and over worked.
Christ i'm not signing off on the sexual harassment and I don't appreciate the implication you think i'm ok with it.

My point is they are agreeing to be a cheerleader for an NFL team. If they want to unionize, sue, file complaints with the AG or quit that is their right.

Poor baby, always the victim.
Im out here fighting everyday for you and male justice.

Your time has passed, but there others who want to dance and cheerlead.

I did home hospice care for my dad and he made several comments about “ the gas factory,” which I initially dismissed as delusional but then realized it was actually a real reference to doctors using gas to manage pain of dying patients. And, as I said before, it was a poor attempt at a joke to Quantum, who I hadn’t seen post since returning to post here.

You are out here voicing your victimhood and insecurities. Poor baby, always the victim.

I think it's important to understand that yes, they do like the image of being a cheerleader for a football team, and that is what they thought they signed up for, BUT I really don't think they signed up for the sexual harassment, underpayment or wage theft.

You are suggesting that since they "agreed to be a NFL cheerleader," they own the situation that they ended up in. I don't agree with that. I would argue that it's a clear case of entrapment.

Snyder and the WFT literally pressured their cheerleaders to whore themselves out to clients among other things and he likely shouldn’t be allowed within a hundred feet of a school but yes, it’s definitely woke culture destroying society or something.

Entrapment seems like a major stretch to me.

When it comes to workers, wages, etc I'm sensing you and I have different ideological points of view.

Snyder should either go to jail, be fined millions of $ and pay the cheerleaders restitution.

Quite frankly he should have been forced to sell the franchise.

Have any of you gotten an actual NFL cheerleader's opinion? lol

I'm sensitive these days. Tx for taking the time w/that explanation. Never heard it from the crew we deal with, and I have no idea what gases would be involved... it's mainly O2 from what I can tell. (and why would they use the term around the patients/caregivers?) But I guess some places the replacement of canisters and such could get the name "the gas factory."

I'm glad to take that explanation. I don't want to think people on here are wisecracking on here about the Holocaust, which is why I axed. Honestly at this point I just like any such people to have the common decency to dog-whistle. :D

As long as there are sufficient quantities of women (and, for the applicable teams, men) willing to do it for peanuts, then peanuts is all they will get.

says the biggest dog whistler in the history of Patsfans...

Thanks for the response, for the record I would never make a holocausts “ joke.” My dad was a doctor and for a brief time he was hospitalized with what his wife believed was Alzheimer’s but I thought was a medication contraindication, and it fortunately was the latter. During that time he made the “ gas factory” remark a couple of times, and while I initially believed it was delusional it had actually was grounded in some reality, and it was a reference to doctors easing the physical pain of dying through gas. That’s a fine line to walk given the social sensitivity to assisted suicide, but one I respect and believe in. I did home hospice for my younger brother as well and given the extreme condition he was in I would have helped him along had he asked me to, which he didn’t. I honestly don’t give one sh.t about others religious beliefs in that context, as they shouldn’t have the right to impose their beliefs upon those enduring great suffering.

I'm open to you making the case to me that wading into a job that pays you only $5/hr, that comes with a heavy dose of sexual harassment, wage theft, no expense comps, etc., was a clear, conscious choice on their part. The truth is that they were told the harsh truth only after making the enormously difficult cut (From 400 to 20 something, IIRC).

Did they know what they were getting themselves into? I am very much doubting that.

You would also have to explain to me why 10 of the 26 NFL teams that employ cheerleaders have had suits filed against them by their own cheerleaders.

Like I said earlier....you and I are ideologically different here.

Potential employees have the right to decline a job offer for whatever reason they choose. Wages, job requirements, etc.

Employees (once they have learned what they got themselves into or how they are being treated) have the right to resign/quit long hours, workplace conditions.

If they feel their employer is discriminating against them or violating a law they can sue them, report them to OSHA, the Dept of Labor, AG, etc.

The more employees who file complaints the more change happens.

Be happy. We got him.

Finally charged Pete LePew for rape.

Certainly not... I do not want to get too deep on here, because it's touchy. But it's amazing how people have all the answers until they're faced with suffering they don't admit to themselves still exists. As of right now, the Mrs. is not having her happiest days, and recently has had really miserable ones. She has voiced "I can't do this anymore," but she's not asking, I'm not offering, and I would not offer. Thus far she still doesn't use all the tools in the pain management toolkit, because she thinks it's like admitting you're at the end (example, morphine.) I do not relish the idea of being asked. I have told her I could not.
